I am home shopping and wanted test for mold before bidding. Already went down that road and it was a very expensive mistake, so I am trying not to repeat that again. Came upon the Healthful Home Mold test that said it will test for hidden mold and give results in 5-10 minutes. It had a lot of great reviews, so I figured why not. I then spotted that they sell a “whole house” inspection kit, which contains 3 separate test and it saved me a good chunk of change, so I bought it. The instructions were detailed and easy to follow. I was able to just take the collection swab portion of the test with me for potential home buys. I would nonchalantly gather some dust off the tops of door jambs and put the swab back in my pocket. When I got home, I would run the test. Two of the 3 homes I was thinking of bidding on tested positive for mold. I had marked each collection tube before I met my realtor, so I knew which home was which. I would have wasted a lot of time going through the motions to either buy another moldy home or finding out during inspection and paying an extra $400 for the inspector to test for mold. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a home or even to a homeowner that is selling a home to find out before it goes on the market if it has mold or not.

I chose this brand of test because it was recommended by a credible YouTube creator that I watch regularly. The test worked as expected, but the help they promised on the packaging for when you get a positive test result is sorely lacking. I called the number and spoke with a radio worthy voice who said he would help me find someone in my area to come and look at the problem mold in my house. I never received the information, so I called to follow up with him. He was condescending and said he didn't care.

I liked it and it worked

Works like a DIY Covid test. Hard to decipher unless you want the added expense of sending in results. Hire a pro if you have concerns and avoid this method.
