Very fast shipping of a nice product.This 4 channel remote does exactly what it is supposed to do. The remote control has four buttons to control four channels individually. The key chain remote unit also has a small switch to lock/unlock the buttons. This feature is very nice when using this system as a remote "start" module (no accidental "hitting" the buttons).Each channel can be configured as momentary or latch on/off function.I read in other reviews that some people had (little) trouble figuring out the wiring..... that only happens if you have no clue about automotive wiring ;). This unit has 4 colored pairs of wires. A pair will show continuity between the wires when the relay (channel) is activated and will disconnect when deactivated.In a real world application you would run only one wire of the power supply through the relay (most likely the + wire ).Oh and before I forget.... the range of the remote is more than adequate too. I have not even used the antenna on the transmitter or even rolled out the antenna of the receiver.

I purchased this product from Amazon with the sole intention of using it like a switch from my LED fire lights. This product was easy to install, and works great! The range is very good, and the remote even feel's heavy duty. And I love how the remote has it's own on/off switch. This way if one of my kids plays with it, it's harder for them to be able to actually turn on the lights. Right now I'm only using one of the 4 switches to power my LED's, but I am planning on using one of the other 3 to turn my strobes on/off when I get them installed in a week or so. With this, I don't even have to run any wires into the cab of my Frontier to use for switches, I just hit the remote, and I'm good to go!

With the antenna extended on the remote but not extended on the reciever this thing has at least 200' of range.Operation of the unit has been flawless so far. Lets hope it stays that way!Definitely 5 stars!Update: Purchased a second one of these on 1.27.14 and as some other reviewers stated, the product is misbuilt and does not have momentary capabilities.The instructions that come with it state that it should but the board does not have the removable jumpers necessary to configure it to do so. I compared my old one (bought in 2012) and my new one and they definitely aren't there so heads up if you need a box that does momentary!I kept the new box and put it into the project where I had the old one as that application does not require momentary.

This is a great device,easy to install, works great but as another reviewer noted ( and thanks for that) the instructions included are less then clear ( actually wrong),somethings are lost in translation. Each color matched pair of wires is separate power in and load out it doesn't matter which one.Then of course power and ground to the main unit.I wanted to install auxiliary lighting on my rig but could not find a way to get a switch wire from the engine compartment into the cab, no problem ,no wire with this.I Velcro'd the main unit to the top of my fuse box and the remote switch to the dash. This would be great for all sorts of accessories.

Does anyone know what frequency the remote operates on - 433Mhz or 315Mhz? I want to buy a programable remote, as the remote that comes with this unit is its Achilles heel.I never got a reply from anyone including the manufacturer, which leads me to writing this -I have never been able to find out what freqency the Pilot 4 Channel Remote Control operated on, so I spent extra money to purchase a cloning remote that covered all the common fregencies. The XIHADA 4 Channel, Multi Frequency, Garage Door Remote worked. It took a couple of tries to position the Pilot remote aganist XIHADA for the XIHADA to put up and clon the signal for each of the 4 channels, but once I found the sweet spot the XIHADA grabbed each channel quickly, very quickly.I still don't know what freqency the Pilot operates on, but I now have a back up remote. Why would I spend $20 bucks for a remote to operate with a $35 dollar device? The Pilot controls the wheel chair lift and doors on my van. I don't like being stranded! I do have a complete new Pilot system, I could simply unplug on and plug in new, but I have to be able to get the doors open,,,,, by myself to make the trade out.I rated the 4 out of 5 as it needs a larger and maybe stronger hole for a key change attachment, and the device also should have an on/off switch, especially when you consider it is controlling a powerful and potentially dangerous piece of equipment like my wheel chair lift.
