I am coming from a Carlinkit 4, and before that a Carlinkit 3 and an Ottocast. All of these would establish the connection maybe 60% of the time. I would have to unplug/plug the unit, and or restart the head unit. Been frustrated with this for years. I have a 2020 RAV4h Limited.This much cheaper device connects 100% of the time. What a difference!It is not perfect. While it does connect every time, it then starts CarPlay running about 80% of the time right away. About 10% of the time it starts CarPlay about several minutes, and the remaining 10% of the time, it does not start up CarPlay. When this happens, just tap CarPlay on the main screen and CarPlay starts right up. I can live with this, and maybe a future firmware update will fix it?

I’ve had 2 similar units in the past. They were both alright but not spectacular. They would connect about 80% of the time and have to be reconnected frequently.But this unit is small, 100% dependable, faster to connect than my previous units and is just awesome. Worth every penny. I highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a CarPlay Dongle.

A little confusing setup at first but after I got it connected it's been working great. The reason for four stars because I just got it installed on 4/23/25 so not sure about its reliability just yet. I will update my review if any problem comes up.
