Cool gift
I got these as a present for my fiance. He flipped (I think I won best fiance of the year). They are larger than I thought they would be - they go from his shoulder to his elbow. The arm straps work well. I am not sure what we were supposed to attach the top clip to? We just used a belt and attached them behind his neck to one another. The only downside is that they have to stay oiled (they come oiled) and it gets everywhere.

Great for the price!!!
The only negative point about these pauldrons is that there is no strap to attach them to the Gorget I bought. There is however a receiving strap so to make these fit the Gorget I bought, I only need to buy a couple of small black leather cat collars. I count my self lucky that the Pauldrons at least have a receiving buckle,It is hard to piece meal armor together, but the more reviews I read the more obvious it becomes that augmentation is almost a certainty. That being said I feel comfortable giving this Pauldron set five stars because they are well made very light & flexible but definitely capable of turning a blade thrust or slash. The reality of buying armor that is not custom designed to fit the individual is that you will probably find yourself making minor adjustments as the size of people vary greatly & it is impossible to mass produce armor that will fit the huge variety that we find in the human condition! I am on the shorter end of the scale but have a larger than average upper body so these Pauldrons fit me well. I am 5 foot 7 inches tall & 190lbs with a 48 inch chest & 33 inch waist so if your smaller than me these will be to big as I have a longer reach than I should have. A normally proportioned person is as tall as there reach from finger tip too finger tip, this is a good rule of thumb so to speak but as I stated above people come in all shapes & sizes! If you are building a set of armor piece by piece like I am doing good luck & have patience & read as much as available on the equipment you are buying. And keep in mind that armor should be layered & when it is it fits all the better so make sure you are done adding to your armor before making any permanent augmentations. And always keep your hair covered when wearing chainmail if not I guarantee it will tangle in your hair & you will be in a painful wrestling match trying to free 10+lbs of Steele from your head! Thank god I had the foresight to prevent such a humiliating dual! Cotton head bandanas work great but Amazon.com does offer head covers.

Dingy and dinged.
I needed this for a costume I was working on. The shipping was prompt, but the actual item left a LOT to be desired. It was dented and rusted quite a lot, and at this price point, I expected a lot more.Ended up returning it and buying from a dedicated website.

nice but bloody
The shoulder pieces are nice. But you will probably need to adjust the metal to suit your arms. I cut up my arm pretty good the first time I tried them on. Took some pliers to the sharp parts and now they fit fine.

Really like the look of these pauldrons
Really like the look of these pauldrons! The only issue I have to say is that these are a little wider pauldrons than what it may appear in the pic. The width of these is hardly an issue though as the metal is malleable and can be bent in or out slightly. The straps look sturdy enough and it came well oiled. Also the free shipping only took about 3 days, so that rocks.

Wow!
This is a great piece........if you have NO arm armor. The bottom of the pauldrons goes all the way to the elbow. I had to cut the bottom three pieces off just to use the shoulder part. Great for people with large shoulders (like myself) as it provides ALOT of coverage. The added neck protection is great. Be aware that the picture shows the hanging straps already attached but they only have two pre drilled holes in the spot were the straps SHOULD go! Once you place the straps and hang them I would suggest using grey carpet padding which makes them a lot more comfortable. I also had to file the points on the ends of the plate down because they will pinch the crap out of your arm even with long sleeves. Good product though.

Look nice
Look very nice, but you must keep them oiled or they will rust right away. Not very stable unless you modify them to add straps.

Amazing Value and High Quality!
These Pauldron's work well with my neck Gorget and the straps connect easily to home the top securely to the Neck Plate and one secure leather strap attaches just below the bicep. Flexibility of the arm is somewhat restricted but let's face it one won't be going to dance while wearing these. I can easily raise my forearm to lift a sword above my head or lift a tankard of ale with no trouble at all. Solid construction, awesome period styling and gleaming steel stands out well against my black quilted gambeson jacket.

Be prepared to do some slight fixes.
I received these earlier then expected and they are very good quality however there are some very sharp edges on the plates that should have been dealt with instead of leaving it up to the buyer to deal with. Anyone purchasing these You will need a curiass or Gorget to attach them to other wise they will just fall off.
