Aliens Queen Hive Playset by Kenner

I purchased this toy for my grandson and he loved it. The ooze was a little hard but was still able to use it.

Hero toys are my Hero! This came way sooner than exspected. And was everything I thought it would be.

This playset came out in 1994 near the end run of the ALIENS toy line, so not too many of these were made. This is a well made toy and a very accurate sculpt of the Alien Queen from the movie "ALIENS" and is more in line with what the toyline should have been from the beginning. The only thing out of place is the chest burster that comes out of the egg, when it should be a face hugger and it would have been nice if the Alien Queen had an extending double jaw feature (the coolest part of the alien creatures). These are minor nitpicks though. Overall this is the best toy in the Kenner "ALIENS" line and would be a lot of fun for a kid. Toys with monsters and slime are always a winner.

This is a rare item in that it is the only truly accurate representation of the alien queen from the movie ALiens that's also articulable. The set from mcfarlane featuring the cocooned woman was too blue and looked too bulky overall. Also the "crown" was too short and inaccurate. This Kenner toy is the alien queen to buy if you're looking for an action figure (that's not too enormous though). the design is highly detailed and excellent. It features a mechanism that allows the queen's jaws to move side to side apart from the crown. Super cool. the only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because a large number of these toys don't stand on their own. Mine does, but I was lucky.
