Dont use this. Seed your lawn the proper way
I bought the whole kit, the sprayer, the seeds, this extra bag of seeds. It didn't work. It really isn't for the DIY, save-some-time, lazy folks like me. Spend the extra time and effort and properly seed your lawn. This was a waste of my money. I didn't see any growth, any grass at all. The only green I saw was the stains on my hand from tring to attach the canister onto the sprayer. Buyer beware.

Mousse is not as thick
All in all not too bad. I have grass growing where it should have but not a nice thick green carpet like advertised. Very simple to apply but what was missing was the blanket of foam, it was there but inconsistant at best. Even in a 100 sq ft area I could still see soil where I applied the mixture. Grass has grown, first the rye and then the bermuda but still in patches. I didnt have to scarify the top soil or cover it as with standard seeding, so that was nice, but I still had to go back over it with traditional store bought seed and added topsoil to fill in the rest. For the price, not really, but convenience, most certainly. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. A golf course fairway? Forget it. Putting more green in your yard? Sure!

It takes proper care, but it works
I have seen many negative reviews, after I made this purchase. Let me say this...it's not a magic solution to growing grass. But it is a good solution. But like any grass seed product, you have to properly prepare for it, and properly maintain it. If you have hard clay soil, just shooting this on it won't grow grass. And spraying it and leaving it won't grow much grass. It takes the same amount of prep and care as regular lawn seed. You need to first prepare the soil, rake at a minimum, to loosen the soil. Then when spraying, for the most part, use the low level. After it's applied, if you read the instructions, you MUST keep the ground wet till the grass starts to grow, at least once a day, although it's recommended 3 x's a day. The coating on this grass seed is supposed to help it absorb more water and nutrients, but only if you give it that. I did that, and it worked great for me. I had areas where grass hadn't grown in decades, just dead ground. And with the ground prep, Hydro Mouss and lots of water, it's now a green zone.

Grass Patch
Did not work for me. I think the soil has to be better than prairie to work.

Trying something that birds won’t eat..
Applied hydro seed yesterday evening in a area where the sun continuously beams so it’s really try and sandy looking. I used a rake to remove leftover hay from laying seed and a manual tiller/ cultivator tool after watering the ground and allowing it to dry up some. For starters it does not cover the amount of ground it claims but I used it on high seed and for what did come out it’s seemed the seeds were coated and so was the ground so I could tell where it’s at. I watch for birds and as desired, the birds flew around it never directly on it or trying to eat the seed which for me is a huge plus! Because of the area I chose to put it in I have to water it every 4-5 hours or so. When I purchased the kit I also purchased a refill but I think I will go a less expensive route and get grass seed and the liquid coating instead of the $28 refills. I watched several videos and within a month or 2 ppl were happy with the results so I’ll have a follow up review in 4 weeks. Update: It didn’t work. I will say I used it in a high sun area and the dirt was like sand but I watered it 4 times a day and even bought timers for my water sprinklers, but on the end I ended up having Kentucky blue sod installed. Just sod it, that’s my advice.
