Great performace for price, straightforward installation recommend Metra install components
The Pioneer AVH-200EX replaced a jammed 6-CD stacker head unit in a 2004 Ford Excursion. The mechanically complex 6-CD stackers in Chevy, Ford, and Dodge vehicles typically die after 8-10 years so this was no surprise. The newly released, value priced Pioneer AVH-200EX offered the following bonuses - a modern touch screen controlled head unit, blue tooth phone support, rear view camera support, improved radio reception and sound. You can also match the Pioneer AVH-200EX display colors to your vehicles night-time dash colorsInstallation was straightforward, wiring in the rear backup camera took some extra time. The video cable for the backup camera we bought ended up being bad, which took several hours to troubleshoot. A word of caution - we pushed the head unit ~90% into the dash (snug fit) but didn't activate the retention clips at 100% insertion, because the head unit cannot be removed once those retention clips take hold, without removing the whole dash (per the Metra 95-5817 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit instructions).Recommend the Metra 95-5817 Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for Select 1995-2008 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda Vehicles available on Amazon, and the Metra 70-1771 Radio Wiring Harness for Ford/Lincoln/Mazda 1998-Up into Car, 16 Pin available on Amazon for a simplified installation. We used a CAIRUTE® Universal Mini CCD High Definition Night Vision 360 Degree Car Rear Front Side View Backup Camera available on Amazon. Other cameras will also work.

Great Unit for Under 200
Awesome price (under 200) for what you get. Bought this as a Fathers day gift and installed it for my father. I have been doing mobile installs all my life (use to do professionally) and he is extremely happy with it. I stayed with Pioneer because the touchscreen is always very responsive and intuitive. My father is not a tech guy by any means and was able to learn how to operate this unit right away. I added a backup camera which works great with this unit. Tip: Backup camera is defaulted to off in the settings. Remember to turn this option on if you add a backup camera. I also installed a micro bypass so he could play videos for the grand kids. Unit has all the bare necessities including Bluetooth. Note: unit does not come with a remote. If you are looking for a quality unit with AM/FM CD/DVD video Bluetooth and Backup camera then this is a great unit. If you want apps, Nav, screen mirroring etc then I would recommend you purchase a higher model Pioneer.I have never had any issues with pioneers overheating or becoming sluggish or unresponsive and the same stays true with this one.

Easy install and works flawlessly
Brand new entry level headunit for 2018 and Pioneer has this dialed in. Easy install and works flawlessly. Soldered to Metra wiring harness adapter for a 2000 Camaro using the factory harness as ground and used a “MicroBypass ALL AVH-X Video In Motion Interface” switch to bypass the parking brake lockout for the sole purpose of not having to splice into factory wiring. Excellent tuner on this radio and I’m picking up FM radio stations I didnt have before and crystal clear. Nice feature to have buttons on the driver side and an external DVD slot. Bluetooth connection takes a few seconds to connect and supplied microphone mounted at A-pillar and headliner interface allows clear voice reception for hands free calls. Plethora of EQ settings for any audiophile and the greatest feature of all is custom illumination to match factory lighting on switches, gauges, and HVAC controls. Next upgrade is adding a backup camera. No option to enable GPS or satellite radio on board the headunit with this model but that is an unecessary feature when you can wirelessly stream audio from GPS and satellite radio apps on a smatphone.

Not the latest model, but a great value. Refurb looks and works perfectly.
Scenario- Replacing the factory radio (non-JBL) in a 2010 Toyota Sienna- Wanted a unit that also included support for a backup camera- Selected the AVH-200EX knowing that it required an external microphone (small trade-off for low price)- Wired the AVH-200EX at the same time I added a license plate backup camera (see separate review)Pros- Even though this unit was "B" stock, it arrived in mint condition. I would definitely by refurb again.- The user interface is quite nice and easy to navigate.- The touch screen is more responsive than the lower cost units from Boss, Dual, etc.- Audio quality is noticeably richer and more pleasant at defaults than factory unit.- Backup camera worked without a hitch when hooked up to this unit.- Bluetooth hands-free sounds FANTASTIC. Low background noise with the supplied external mic.- Sync up with Bluetooth phones is swift, even a little "too" brain dead compared to other systems.Cons- Side buttons (volume, track, etc.) are too small. Unless you already have steering column-mounted controls, you are forced to take your eyes off the road to do something routine like adjusting the volume or changing a track.- "Nanny" mode requires you to wire directly to the Parking Brake trigger wire or the DVD (and some setup functions) will not work. (Partial workaround... Connect the parking brake wire to the ground wire on the wiring harness.)- No built-in mic. The AVH-210EX and above have a built-in mic, so this might be worth the extra $50 to you.- Startup could be quicker.- Camera switch-over can be laggy, but I chalk that up to the low-budget camera I am using.- No manual. Can be a pain when you are doing installation. You might want to have your iPad handy because you'll need to download it.- USB connector is tucked BEHIND the radio. You will need to buy a USB port if you want it to show up on your dash.- AUX connector is tucked BEHIND the radio. Same situation as the USB port.- CAUTION - This does NOT support Android auto or Apple auto.Summary- So far so good. 90 day refurb warranty. High quality for "B" stock refurb. Better audio quality than I expected for the price. Matches well with the stock speakers in our 2010 non-JBL Sienna. Backup camera support is solid and Bluetooth "just works." Don't expect perfection and you'll be please for the price.
