VIPERTEK VTS-881 Micro Stun Gun for Self Defense Rechargeable with LED Flashlight

My mom bought me one of these in purple a few years ago and I love it! It's small enough to fit in my coat pocket or purse and even comes with a black carrying case - it fits perfectly in your hand and has a comfort texture. There is a small button you slide on it that pops out a plug so you can plug it into an outlet to charge it, which according to the instructions, you only need to do once a month. I've gone much longer than that without charging it and it still works excellently - it holds the charge for a very long time. To operate it, you slide a button up one position to activate the flashlight (super bright) and push it up further to activate the stun gun; then you press and hold a separate button to taze someone. When you deploy the button, it makes an incredibly loud sound as the voltage goes through it and the mugger. I have luckily not had to use it on anyone, but the voltage is definitely enough to give a mugger a good shock and the loud buzzing/crackling sound alerts anyone around that a crime is going down. I have it turned on and my hand on it in my pocket when I have to walk in Baltimore City or DC when I occasionally use the metro or go visit my friend there. Don't worry, you won't stun yourself even if you leave it in the on position because you'd have to hold the button down to do that. I feel so safe when I have this, especially given how crime laden that area is. In fact, I even bought one for a few of my girl friends so we all feel safe. It's worth every penny and I can't believe the great price for how effective and very well made this is. I also love the variety of colors this comes in for both genders.

Im necessarily only using it to scare or deter anything while taking my kitty out and about and i don’t want to jump to lethal force immediately. The size is perfect for pocket carry, im not too sure how much it hurts, (I haven’t tested it on anything.) but i will suggest waiting a bit to touch the prongs after using it, don’t ask me how i know. The flashlight is bright. The looks and feel of it are very good as well as it is easy to grip. Easy to use, just push the switch forward and bam, shocky shocky.

this is my 3rd vipertek micro stun gun. I like the compactness of it. I always carry it with me when I go on my early morning walks. Fortunately I've never had to use it on any humans. But the electric arcing sound alone is loud enough to deter unleashed approaching aggressive barking dogs. So I would assume the arcing sound alone would work on humans too. Plus there is a decent LED flashlight if you need one in a pinch. Customer service is good a replacing defective units, just keep your Amazon documentation.

Well I must say, this particular brand is a very well made unit. It works as described, isn't too costly and just perfect sized to keep with you on person or in vehicle, just about anywhere... Holds a charge for a long time as well... and fortunately haven't had ro use on any persons but have had it out and sparked to prevent someone from coming closer... Noise alone was very effective!

Recieved hand tazers when expected. Packaged up pretty good. Price was very good, so good I ordered 4 (myself, my wife, my grown daughter and my college granddaughter). Each tazer worked perfectly right out of the box. Flashlight gives off very usable brightness. Tazer "spark" looks AND sounds very intimidating. Scared the fur babies and my wife when I tested it to the air. Not brave enough to 'test' it on myself, YET, LOL !! Tazer unit is very well constructed, easy to understand, and simple to use. Holster very cheaply made, as other reviews have implied. (but seriously, they have to cut the cost some where. Would rather receive a cheap holster than a cheap unreliable product). Unit came with internal rechargeable battery and a USB charging cord (no charger, just a cord) which can be plugged into ANY USB phone charger or computer USB port for charging. I suggest that you carefully read and follow the straight forward instruction sheet that comes with the unit. Love the bright identifiable colors that are available, helps in correctly identifying the unit if kept in a purse, handbag, backpack or even on a nightstand or dresser in the dim night light. With "THAT" said, check to make sure the color you want is coming from either AMAZON or the seller. We ordered 2 green, a purple and a red. After ordering, I realized the green (or black colors) came from an AMAZON DISTRIBUTION CENTER and shipping was FREE. The purple and red came from the "seller" who charged shipping. Not a bad shipping fee, but not FREE even though I'm a PRIME member. (KEEP THAT IN MIND WITH ANYTHING YOU ORDER THROUGH AMAZON) OVERALL, I have NOT needed to use this hand tazer YET (thank GOD) but would not hesitate to use it if the need arose. I definitely would recommend this portable hand tazer to ANYONE, but especially women who have to work, jog, exercise, travel or recreate in places they may find themselves alone at times. Just check your state and local LAWS and familiarize yourself with the 'LEGAL' use in your areas.

This is my 2nd one! Small enough to fit in pocket. Loud enough to scare off dogs. Use it for safety while walking my two. The flashlight comes in very handy.
