Can I use this in a hot tub?

Not in the presence of Chlorine, so make sure your hot tub water has no Chlorine in it before adding H2O2 (Hydrogen Peroxide). H2O2 is much more stable than Chlorine, so it lasts much longer and nicer to the skin, hair, eyes and fabric dyes. Your hair will feel soft and silky. I used H2O2 in my 16 x 32 pool and liked it much better.

Food grade means the product type can be swallowed without being harmful, i.e. used to disinfect tooth brushes, eating utensils, mouth rinsing....I still do not swallow to be safe.

Nope, not food grade. Nor does it claim to be. Food grade is 35%. This is 3%; the same stuff you can buy at any drugstore or supermarket. One could continue to purchase quarts but I prefer the gallon size since I use it in lieu of bleach. I launder with public machines so add 1/2 cup to rinse to disinfect my clothes. OK for whites and colors; just check fabric.
