Easy to use, melts slowly, and looks great in drinks
Spent two weeks making 14 ice balls for a bourbon share, and they worked out great. Barely melted at all while drinking, and clarity was obvious- and nice looking. Now I just open the freezer every day, pop out a cube (can you call a sphere a cube?) and add it to my freezer bag, then refill and put back in the freezer. Got plenty for next party and in between just for me. Very easy.

Best Clear Ice Cube Makers!
If you follow the instructions - use only tap water and be sure to boil it, then let it cool before putting in the molds - you will have the most beautiful round ice cubes you can imagine! Looks like a stunning piece of glass! Top-notch all the way! Perfect for cocktails served in a rocks glass! I use these spheres for Negronis and Old-Fashioneds.

Great for first cube . . .
The first cube worked great - clear ice and relatively easy to remove cube from mold. However after the first cube, it is almost impossible to remove the cubes from the mold. Don't buy if you want more than 1 ice cube.Update 1/27/25After some experimenting I found a way to get the cubes out of the mold. After taking the mold out of the freezer, do not try remove it by warming up the mold with water, rather, just use your hands to warm it for a few seconds and then twist the mold and it is much easier to remove. When I initially had trouble removing it, I tried running water around the mold. However, I think this is what it made it so difficult to remove. Consequently, I'm changing my review to 4 stars.

It works
This works well. You have to follow the directions. The ice isn't always crystal clear but sometimes it is.

Beautiful ice balls every time!
Other than being limited to one at a time, I have no complaints. It's so much easier to use than some of the trays that are practically impossible to pull apart! It is a huge chunk of ice, and it does work better with tap vs. purified or distilled as stated in the instructions. For whatever reason they come out more clear, which is also the case if you use water that's slightly warm. A great product! No more diluted cocktails! I keep my extras in a scent free silicone freezer bag so they won't absorb freezer odors.

Works... but..
It works but if you leave it too long in the freezer, ice will not be clear. In my freezer, more than 26 hours will not give you result you desire.

The right water is crucial.
I first used tap water and that definitely wasn't satisfactory. I then tried distilled, which is what the ball in the photo is from and it was better but still not real clear. My last test, which I didn't think about photographing, was the distilled water boiled for 1 minute first. The boiled distilled water came out frozen crystal clear. Evidently, the distilled water I bought isn't as pure as it should be. Other than that, it's a very simple process but just make sure you fill it to at least the line where it shows. My first attempt came out flat on top and only about 3/4 size. I'm thinking I may have pushed the silicone in too fast because there was quite a bit of ice underneath it when I opened it One more thing, to release the ball from the silicone I just wrap my hand around it for a minute or so. The reason I bought this was to see if I could freeze and photograph something inside the ice ball. It was a challenge and am still perfecting it.

Simple and effective method for clear ice spheres.
Simple, effective method of producing a 2.5 inch clear ice sphere. I make one everyday and collect in a ziplock bag until i have a good stash. The spheres i find to be slower melting than a cube. Cheers!🧊🥃
