Q: Why does the picture say 7 bits but then only lists 6?

Phillips #3 is standard and not listed as an extra. theres 6 storage holes in the handle and the tip makes 7 without the 7th bit to push a different bit out they would be stuck in there. the extras bits are: Slotted 1/8" Slotted 3/16" Slotted 1/4" Phillips #1 Phillips #2 Square Drive #2

Q: What bits does it have?

Oh, and bits are great, too. Mariner comes with whatever sort. I've got them wet, damp, exposed to elements. Still look like new. Plus, if you feel the need to carry more you can. Because it comes with 3" bits you can place smaller assortment of bits in the side where they come out. For instance, a 1/4" extension. The same you would use in an impact gun. This will give you some extra reach. Or 1/4" hex to 1/4" or 3/8" socket adapter.BitsPhilips P1,P2, P3 Robinson, Robertson? R2Slotted 1/8, 3/16, 1/4Torx I mentioned in other post came with a different model. Best multi screwdriver I've had the opportunity to use!

Q: Does the clear plastic handle have a bad smell?

No. Bad smell is from powder coating. This is moulded

Q: What's the difference between the mariner and the regular version?

The mariner version is stainless steel. It has been on the boat for 3 years...no rust. Worth every penny.

Excellent screwdriver, maybe a little pricey but I couldn't find anything else with a good fat handle and a flat back end better suited to leaning into the odd tuffy!Stowing the bits in the handle has worked our really handy, I now have a mix of various other job specific bit's found on my travels replacing a few of the originals.I work offshore and despite rolling about the deck from time to time it's as good as new.
