Good value just what we wanted

The product that arrived was not quite as I expected, but an improved model, and it worked a treat, plenty of adjustment, very strong, nice to use, and it can be mounted left or right hand. We are very pleased thank you.

It does look the part, as a sturdy gate latch. But it will need filling and some adjustment for it to work correctly every time. The groove the latch sits in, is too tight. So the latch rubs, so the galvanised spray won’t last long. I don’t think the oversized hole on th latch helps the situation. Ad this allows it to move around to much. It will work, once I’ve modified it. But no I wouldn’t buy again.

I am incredibly disappointed with this product. I chose it after reading the very positive reviews, and needing a good quality latch that the children could easily use, and secure the gate against the dog escaping. The latch arrived in excellent time, but with no fixings or instructions for fitting. The mechanism is bizarre. When fixed to the gate with the screws fully tightened the drop/raise mechanism is pressed so tightly against the wood that it is immovable. It only works when the screws are pretty loose, which makes the back-plate wobbly. Even then, sometimes the latch lifts happily, at other times it decides not to budge. The black plastic knob pinged off at the first attempt to lift the latch. The metal also appears to be poorly finished, and the parts grate against each other like an arthritic joint. I will be returning this product and looking for something with a much better design and finish. The bit of rope over the gate-post is doing a better job than this.

Very pleased with the gate latch. Fitted easy to the gate, and very easy to use, I use a mobility scooter and use a stick to undo the gate from my scooter and this does the job. Also when the gate swings back the latch catches every time. Also easy to use when I come back in and use my arthritic hand to open it. Would definitely buy again if needed.

Good quality and value for money. Perfect for my gate and good that it is reversible.

Sturdy easy to install, big handle so easy to open. Minor dislike is that is not the smoothest opening and shutting latch side, I had to file down the inside of the latch so it could move up and down.
