Great product, amazing value, easy assembly
Update Aug '24: This is just a guest bed at my house so doesn't get daily use, but it's held up very well. I often lift the mattress to refresh the bedding or get something underneath and yet the sticky tapes that help the mattress stay in place are still doing their job. It's been a year or two and still no squeaks and no issues (but keep in mind it's seldomly used at my house). I'm very happy with this purchase and considering the price I wouldn't hesitate to get myself this frame for daily use if I was in bed of a bed frame again. Only challenge I've had with it has been to find a bed skirt that fits it properly... All the skirts seam to have a longer pleat than I need. The ones with the correct length tend to be more expensive for some reason. This isn't a big deal, I like the minimalistic look of the frame by itself, but since my guest room is also my storage room, it would be nice to hide all the boxes of junk underneath the bed lol. Original: Since I just put my bed together today, I can't speak on durability, and considering it's a metal bed frame, I'm sure time will bring about a few squeaks in the future, HOWEVER it did feel very sturdy and like all the parts "hug" each other well when put together. The metal felt strong and the slats feel durable too. VERY easy to assemble with simple instructions and organized packaging. Literally the hardest thing about this was opening the box. As simple as it is, this was very well-designed product and the company really did an amazing job in everything from it's design, the product quality, how is packaged, and even the instructions. I do wish I had bought the tallest size just because I could take advantage of the under-bed space for storage (I got the 10" height since in the photos the 14" looked exaggeratedly high), but I'm happy with how good the 10" looks (personally I think anything less would look way too low). I'm lucky I went with this bed frame over all the others I considered.... I highly recommend this, especially considering the price. Thank you!

Happy, great frame for apartment
Happy with my purchase. Bought the 18" full size frame (on sale) for the under bed storage but I also liked the minimal modern design. As an apartment renter, I know I'll move at some point or another so didn't want a very heavy bulky frame, so also a pro that this disassembles and flat-packs easily. Initial impressions - impressed with box size and efficiency of packing. I was able to carry the ~47 lb box up one flight of stairs myself without much trouble. Assembly by myself was easy. Package has minimal padding, using some soft foam pieces (appreciated no styrofoam!) and each metal piece in a plastic sleeve. Many had broken through their plastic sleeves, but everything was in great condition/no scratches. It's one of the rare times where I thought a product could actually use a hair more packing material - but again, there was no damage. As I started to assemble, none of my pieces were labeled (except screws) but it was fairly easy to identify and follow the printed instructions. As another reviewer suggested, open the box lengthwise, assemble, then add screws (frame will hold basic shape), and do final tightening of screws for each step once all are in to ensure everything aligns. Unfortunately one bottom corner of the lengthwise side bars (piece "B") had a screw hole on the wrong side (outer instead of inner) which put a dampener on my set-up as I worried about overall quality control. Confirmed it was manufacturer error and not my own. However it seemed to hold just fine and was in the room corner (not getting on the bed on that side)... I macgyvered with some duct tape for now to ensure it stays in place and reached out to support. (More comments on this below). The rest of assembly went fast. About 50% of screw holes were super smooth and easy, the other 50% took a little time to get the screw to thread correctly but then went in fine once started. I found it best to start all by hand then tighten with the provided ratchet. Unlike IKEA assembly, the screws seem good quality and I had zero issue with any getting stripped - and think I'll be able to disassemble/reassemble as needed without issue. Some reviews mentioned that they were given extra screws - mine did not. The slats laid out fast and connect to the edges with velcro - I took the time to press down on the entire strip. I added the provided tiny rubber strips on frame edges to reduce mattress shifting, but held off on using the slat stickers (I rotate my mattress regularly so don't plan to use). Once I added my mattress, the slats (and Velcro) settled some as I laid down for the first few times, but no noise from the frame, and no issues with mattress shifting. After a couple weeks of use, I'm very happy. The frame and slats have no noise, seems strong, and I've had no issues with the mattress shifting. Only if I put a lot of weight into one spot will I occasionally get a tiny bit of noise from the Velcro - i.e. crawling across the bed - and not every time, never loud enough to bother me, or really notice unless listening for it, and it's been less and less as the Velcro connections tighten. I also find that this new frame gives more mattress support - I didn't realize my prior frame had a little too much give until now, thinking it was my mattress. Love the under bed storage capacity, especially for an apartment. The frame looks great even in a smaller room, despite the height. Regarding the piece with incorrect screw hole - I reached out to Zinus (as Amazon instructs for broken/missing pieces). Initially they said I'd have to speak to Amazon and return/replace because I was still in the return window. When I clarified that I just needed/wanted a replacement piece and wanted to otherwise keep my order, they escalated my request to upper support, and should be shipping the new piece soon. I'll update if any issues with this.

Extremely well made frame!
I am so very impressed with the Zinus Platforma frame! It is very easy to put together. Just make sure you TAKE THE TIME TO LAY ALL THE PIECES AND SCREWS OUT CORRECTLY BEFORE YOU START. (If not, you will probably screw up.) The picture directions are self explanatory as you simply follow the numbers. The only thing that is not explained (and I'm not quite sure how it could be explained in a picture) is as the frame begins to take form and you are working at securing the top side rails to the end rail, be sure at the same time to also align the opposite end so it will slip over the top end bracket. Otherwise, when you get to it, there won't be any play left to slip it together because the opposite end is already stable. (Sorry if this sounds confusing.) I had to go back and loosen some of the screws in order to have enough play to do this. Another thing that impressed me is the way the slats are constructed and fit. They are thick and sturdy, and are connected together with one continuous strip of velcro correctly separating and spacing each slat. There is a ledge on the top side rails that is velcroed on which you simply lay the slats down and extend the velcro, and everything is correctly spaced. If anything looks out of wack, just go back and check to make sure each velco has been fully extended. The slats give a nice firm comfortable foundation for my mattress, even better than the box spring that came with the mattress. Originally I had purchsed the 6", but I felt like I was back in college sleeping with a mattress on the floor. The Zinus people were great to work with, and I exchanged it for the 10". The 10" without a box spring gives just about a normal mattress height...not too high or too low..., leaves enough room to store other things under if wanted, gives my 16 lb Havanese room to hide under the bed, and the bed's not so high that I worry about them hurting themselves jumping off if they decide not to use the ramp I made for them. Not only is the Zinus solidly built, it is also very good looking. At the moment, I am still using my old headboard, that I just leaned against the wall after attaching 2 felt squares to protect the wall. Seems to be staying put well. There is no way to screw it to the frame, although I am sure you could improvise somehow if wanted. Some month previously, I had purchased a less expensive 14" metal frame from Walmart. Rather than having one slat across, they had 2, which ended up pushing the mattress right up against my spine, making my entire body hurt. Also, the slats kept falling off the frame, and in the end the legs of the frame bent because they were not made strongly enough. It was a disaster! Needless to say, I returned it. Zinus told me that their beds are designed in the US, and made in China. If their frames are any indication of the quality of their mattresses, I will buy their mattress next time I need one.

Strong and Simple Bed Frame
This bed frame is really solid and easy to put together. The metal feels sturdy and the wood slats hold the mattress well without any squeaking. I like that it doesn’t need a box spring and sits at a nice height. It looks clean and simple, perfect for a modern setup. Only reason I gave four stars is the corners are a bit sharp, so you have to be careful when walking around it. Still a great value overall.

SUPERB
A-MAZING. - Slotted together WAY faster than I thought. I'd set aside an entire DAY for something that took maybe half an hour. We spent longer re-arranging the room!! - The pieces were labelled with the step number, but they were NOT labelled with their part number, even though the instructions gave them one. This was easily solved by sitting down with some masking tape and a pen and labelling them myself. It felt a little bit like the instructions had been altered without altering the packaging for the parts yet, so maybe that will improve and I just had a transitional version of the item. LIke I said, sit down with some masking tape and a pen and label the parts your self, and it will be just fine. The little inventory diagrams even have red check marks that tell you where holes are on the part, which makes IDing them SO much easier during the inventorying stage of assembly! - This thing is VERY LIGHT and easy to move. My husband and I have moderately impaired mobility and we were able to lift and move this very easily. KEEP YOUR TOES CLEAR it's so easy to forget this is a BOX not something with legs. I set it down on my bare toe for a second and OUCH. Those corners are definitely 90 degrees! - It comes with extra parts that are LABELLED 'extra parts'! Amazing! - The bed slats are in two parts, making them easy to manipulate (and carry up the stairs), AND they VELCRO onto the bedframe! They also have nonskid stickers and additional nonskid parts to help the mattress not slid off! This thing is SO well designed!!! - THE RATCHET. You know how most put-together furniture comes with a dinky lil L-shaped allen wrench? That's not good enough for Zinus, no sir. They give you a dang RATCHET allen wrench. It's so FANCY. I love it. I kept mine, it's a 3/16" and it's AWESOME. I hope I need to use it for my IKEA furniture because RATCHET. Saved my hands a lot of pain. - THEY DON'T USE STYROFOAM. NO SQUEAKY NAILS-ON-CHALKBOARD NOISE AND NO MESS. My husband and I H A T E the sound and feel of styrofoam, and apparently someone in Zinus' shipping dept does too because they use the really nice stuff. I mean it we just... saved it, for crafting. It's really great stuff, very dense, very sturdy, very quiet. - They give you three (3) little notecards??? One is a thank you card and two say 'hello' on them. They come with an envelope that has a tiny Zinus logo and are in a little paper sleeve that has a thank you message from the company, that urges you to 'recycle' the cards (they have nothing in them so I hesitate to say they're recycled because to me they just seemed brand new??). It was super cute and the two 'hello' cards are a perfect gift for me since I just moved and have been needing a couple little cards to send as change of address cards. I super love this company! We started off buying their mattresses but now I am very excited. I'm not a brand loyal kind of person but I am definitely building my trust with this brand and will look first at their offerings when I'm in the market for this type of thing in future because I know the quality on offer. I wish they made loft beds!!

Affordable and Easy to Assemble Bed Frame/Platform
I received this product in fairly good condition. The packaging was fine, nothing was bent or missing, and the included hardware and tools to put the bed frame together are sufficient to get the job done. Opening the packaging, everything is plastic wrapped and pretty well protected so that you don't accidentally scratch any of the pieces. There are included instructions which are pretty easy to follow, essentially just match up the numbers on one part to the numbers on another part and screw the two pieces together. This entire process took me maybe 20 - 30 minutes to do by myself and I was taking my time with it. If two people were to put this together, it would probably only take about 15 minutes. Once put together, I was surprised by just how sturdy the frame seemed to be. It is well made and the welds on the pieces seem to be fine. As others have mentioned, the center supports seem to be the only area where some additional reinforcement could be needed, but so long as you set the bed in the spot you intend to keep it and don't drag it around on the floor too much, the center supports are sufficient in my opinion. The bed frame or platform, whatever you want to call it, is also the perfect size for the queen mattress I bought for it. I had seen reviews on other bed frames where some mattresses were too big or too small so the fact this was a non-issue was nice. Another big plus for me is that there is no rattling or squeaking. The bed frame looks great while providing a nice base for my mattress to be supported on. I suppose the only con to this bed frame is the lack of storage volume underneath the frame itself in case someone were to want to store things underneath it. You can definitely fit things that aren't too tall underneath but if you're someone that likes to have a lot of under bed storage, then this bed frame probably isn't the one for you. I wouldn't really call this a con however seeing as it is listed as being only a 6 inch tall platform, so there you go. All in all, 10/10 from me. It met all my expectations and ended up being a much better product than I anticipated and I would highly recommend it to people that want a low profile, budget friendly bed frame option that looks good and is functional.

Just buy it
I was very hesitant to buy this since I read quite a few reviews about the beams bowing just from an average size person laying on the bed but I got it anyway. Here’s my thoughts so far and maybe I’ll answer some questions that I know I had that I couldn’t find answers to. Firstly, I got the 14 in frame and it took me 30 minutes max to set up. It would have taken me about 15 if I hadn’t had a toddler helping. The frame is sturdy, I had no issues with any of the pieces and everything (plus some) were there. The slats are about 1-1.5 inch apart and they don’t bow while we lay on it. Our toddler loves to crawl into bed with us as well and even with the 3 of us, still no bowing. Secondly, a thinner mattress won’t fall through the slats. We have an 8 inch memory foam mattress and I was concerned that we would need to buy some 2x4s to not only make it sturdier but to prevent the mattress from falling between the slats. They’re close enough that not even a tiny cm falls between the boards. Our mattress also doesn’t slide around on the frame but just in case there are anti-slip strips that come with it and there are 2 boards that have plastic that comes off and makes them sticky so your mattress won’t move. Third, this bed is absolutely amazing for storage. All you have to do is throw on a bed skirt over the frame and you can’t see anything underneath it. You can stick an average size Rubbermaid tote under it and not have to take the mattress off or lift the frame at all to get it out. If you’re looking for a basic, good quality bed frame at a decent price this is it.

Nice, but
I thought the design was cool, the price ok, and despite the bad reviews I bought mattress platform. 3 months later I would not buy it again if I had too. Apart from the fact one gets easily bored with this metallic material, the sturdiness is not that good. The center bar in the middle is not straight anymore and both my husband and I weight 135kg which is nothing in theory, even for a slattes structure. The slattes are flat and rigid and support the mattress. They do not adapt to ur body contrarily to the ones I had before. It is very hard even if ur mattress is semi firm. There are adhesive supplied to prevent ur matress from sliding, but be careful as it can ruin its envelop material. I took them off and the mattress still stays in place. It is easy to assemble the explanations are clear. U have adhesive with numbers on every part. 15 minutes are enough to get them all together. The black metallic structure itself is really simple and would be great if sturdier in the middle. I hate stocking things under a bed as I only like minimalism, but there is a of space under the slattes if u need it. It is a pain to vaccum this empty space because of the metallic bars, so I swift. If u are able to weld, u can get this bed. I am not. I am looking for a system that could reinforce the structure. What a waste of time and money. Yet, the company seemed serious. The packaging was extremely well done and the whole structure came with a nice and personalized set of 3 THANK YOU cards and envelopes. Nice attention still. Unfortunately, their customer service never slept for 3 months on this product.
