How long are the leads?

I have a 2007 gmc canyon and the brake light has 4 wires. How do i know which two wires i connect this to?

Can you use double sided tape to mount them or do they get too hot for that?

2013 Ram 1500 These did not work when installed as described, any advice other than to remove them and return them after drilling holes in my truck?
