The lead is dark and the pencils are well marked with the hardness of lead.
KALOUR PDAS 6 Pcs Matt Graphite Pencil Set (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B, 12B), Professional Drawing Sketching Pencil Set, Ideal for Drawing Art, Sketching, Shading, Artist Pencils for Beginners & Pro ArtistsFirst impressions: Nice set of pencils, ready to use. The pencils look well made and are sharpened. The lead is dark and the pencils are well marked with the hardness of lead.Installation/setup: Open package and use to create art.Final thoughts: Each pencil feels nice in the hand. There are no erasers or sharpeners so you may want to have them on hand. The whole thing I got them for was the claim of them being matte, and being less shiny, more dark than regular graphite. The pencils are darker, it’s a little hard to tell between the shades, it’s pretty dark. I used a mechanical pencil lead with regular graphite to compare and there is a really big difference. If you look at the samples I made, it’s hard to tell between the hardnesses and the darkness, but there is a small difference and the matte finish is really noticeable. I like these and I’m glad I got them.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Halfway Between Graphite and Charcoal
I'm an art hobbyist, and sketching with graphite and charcoal is my main thing. I have a drawer full of various drawing pencils I've amassed over the years, but I was intrigued by Kalour's description of these as "matte graphite" and wanted to give them a try. My first impression was somewhat "meh": they felt scratchy on my test paper (Strathmore 300 Drawing), and were very crumbly in the sharpener. They did produce dark tones, clearly darker than my traditional sketching pencils, such as Derwent. After trying various tests, it dawned on me that these are more like charcoal pencils than graphite pencils. I would almost consider them a hybrid. They have that scratchy feel of charcoal, and produce the deep tones of charcoal, and have the matte appearance of charcoal (see the photo with the light reflection: the close swatch is Kalour, the far swatch is charcoal, and the in-between swatches are graphite). So my rating is four-stars, because based on the description, I was expecting a more graphite-like feel. I specifically docked them a star because they do not blend nicely, relative to quality graphite or charcoal pencils (see photo). They also do not erase easily using my Staedtler Mars plastic eraser (see photo). The manufacturer promoted that the leads wont break easily; I sharpened five of the pencils with no problem, but twice had some breakage on the 12b.So my final impression is likewise "meh" - I don't dislike them, but not crazy about them either. I would not grade these as "Professional" quality as suggested by the product title; these are definitely hobbyist-grade, in my opinion, like something you'd pick up on-sale at the local giant craft store. They will take up residence in my charcoal drawer, where my plan is to use them essentially as charcoal pencils for quick sketching.

Excellent Quality Graphite Pencils - Matte Black Color - Multiple Shades for Drawings - No Shine
Ordered this (6) Pack of PDAS - Matt Graphite Pencil Set - (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B, 12B) - Professional Drawing Pencils for use in my work. I prepare tax maps for land and property ID's on large scale sheets, similar to tax office at courthouses. I'm always measuring and marking maps and use multiple colored pencils as well as lead pencils for darker lines. Recently while shopping online for some tax ID markers,I saw this (6) pack of matte black pencil set and ordered them. These are nice quality marking pencils. They come in (6) marking shades of matte black from a lighter shade to the very dark thick line solid color matte black. These would also be great for an artist as the matte black "non-glare" markings does not shine. They are also great for my map work. I use the thicker one for overall property line markings for the maps and the black non shine lines makes my maps look great. Quality really shows when using these pencils. Happy with order

Great for dark non-reflective shading
I got these for shading my lousy drawings when I don't want them to be shiny, and I'm looking for extra deep, dark blacks. These pencils are well made and clearly labelled with their hardness. They come sharpened to a very blunt point. I recommend not sharpening these to too fine a point, as they are fairly soft and can break. That said, my primary use is for shading and these are great for that. As you can see, even in the hardest HB in the set still lays down a fairly dark mark. Compared to the the standard graphite, I think these are both darker and much less reflective. It is a good alternative to black colored pencil or similar graphite alternatives. The do smudge, but again, this is soft graphite so that's 100% expected and you should take needed precautions. Overall, though, the set is an absolutely winner and well priced.

Artist's Opinion: Great for kids and students, not smooth enough for artists
Very affordable graphite pencil set. My wife who has an Art degree was not exactly impressed with them. Granted that's a high bar for a graphite set. If you are buying this to create art level work, the pencils will not be as good or smooth using as you expect. They could be great for the kids, an early student or as a stocking stuffer, but they don't match the quality of Staedtler or Standford graphite pencils.
