The Substance 4K UHD

The movie is amazing, one of the most original, visceral and squirm-inducing body horror films I'll ever watch with an incredible performance by Demi Moore. I could write a three page, single spaced, double-sided essay about why I love this movie but it's best to not spoil all the insanity this movie has in store. However I ordered a 4K bluray combo and only received the regular bluray so I had to return it and find a physical copy elsewhere so as to not have my trust broken again. But this movie is 1000% worth your money in any format.

I got this movie and I love quirky weird horror movies. My favorite kind of horror movies are the disturbing ones . This one was right up my alley. It's extremely gory, enough to make your stomach turn, and has tons of nudity. The acting in this is incredible both from Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley and how much of an a hole of Dennis Quaid's acting as well. It is supposed to be a gory horror movie to make you queasy, but I actually saw it as a dark comedy kind of. I just found it humorous because of the narcissism of what a Top Model could be like, not to say that all models are narcissists, but this definitely shows ugly side of it. The 4K quality on this movie is incredible (I believe it is presented in Dolby vision) even on a crappy second gen 4K TV. The sound is really nice, I believe it's DTS-HD for DTS:X, I'm not 100% sure. So I'm extremely happy that I bought this and I would definitely watch it several times in the future.

Just a fantastic watch. If you love amazing makeup and prosthetics, acting, and cinematography this film is for you. If you love directors with a vision where their film takes you along for the ride this film is for you.As a woman, this film really resonated with me. Not a big horror/body horror fan but I love how the film tackled this subject. Its a film that you will definitely think about after watching it.Demi Moore does such a wonderful job here! The cast is great and really just go for it.Also, please do not take the substance! The best version of you is watching the film!!!As for the preorder - it said there was a delay - but its already shipped.Edit: It still says shipped and the USPS is delivering it Monday the 27th. They haven't even received it yet though.Five stars for the film.Fifty five eye rolls for the impending delivery. Booooooo!January 27th edit: its here!!!

This was a great movie that takes you on a ride towards madness. The only reason I didn't give it a fifth star was because I felt the ending was way too over the top with the writers using too much symbolism, which then became inconsistent with the film's internal logic. Aside from that, it's excellent horror that I'll be sure to watch again.

I really enjoyed the substance. It was my favorite film of last year and I highly recommend it to all who like a little bit ago like a little bit of drama like a little bit of everything wrapped into one movie. This is a great film and I’ve watched it numerous times since purchasing it and I have recommended to others. Demi Moore is fabulous as is Margaret Qualey.

I loved this movie. Its got everything, good acting, boobs, monsters, blood, and great sound. My wife liked the beginning but had to look away at the end most of the time. I bought this and had no idea what the movie was. What a great surprise.

This has easily become one of my all time favorite movies. It has a great story line and the visual effects are stunning. In an uncomfortable way. And the actual blu ray itself was brand new ans plays great.

Awesome campy horror, blends genres so well. It arrived in great condition!
