Cowboy Must Have
My daughter loves her cowboy boots and can't live without a boot jack. Usually they are so big and cumbersome but this one is perfect and doesn't take up all the space. Can easily fold and set in closet and grab in a hurry. Cowboy boots are expensive and taking good care of them and keeping the soles nice is important definitely worth the small investment not to mention makes them so much easier to take off.

Convenient and easy to pack, but durability is a tradeoff
The media could not be loaded. This boot jack works well enough to get your boots off, so that’s the main thing to note. It folds flat for easy packing, which is convenient if your boots are made for walking and they are walking out of town. You can see in the video that the folding ‘stand’ has a separate reinforcing flap that also folds out to lend some stability to the little stand. It clips into place with an audible snap and basically eliminates the risk that the stand will fold down during use. Before I discovered that flap, the stand did in fact fold down while I tried to use it. The entire jack is made from a hard plastic with some reinforcing ribs to give it sturdiness, but the instructions that come with it tell you that it will not support more than 200 lbs of weight. If you weigh more than that, they suggest shifting some of your weight to your heel or sitting down while using. I weigh just around 200 lbs. and noted that it handled my weight well. I avoided putting all of my weight on the plant foot as they instructed. The one thing I noted that was a little concerning, however, was when I began to pull my leg upward to remove the boot, the jack seemed to bend a little upward under the strain. I am no slouch, but I’m also not Hercules, so this concerned me a bit. I adjusted my plant foot forward to put a little more of my weight on the jack and this seemed to solve the problem for the most part. I think you need to balance between putting too much weight and too little. Once I get that right, I think this jack will work fine. One other thing to note is that the rubber inside the boot gripping opening is very soft and was generally easy on my ostrich boots.

Cheap, Useless Junk
My husband attempted to use this boot jack to remove his cowboy boots. The bottom stand pieces literally exploded off the jack when he applied pressure to remove the boot. You can see in the close up picture that the underneath support pieces did not just pop off. The one piece actually broke, leaving this product irreparable. You can see in the other picture how everything basically exploded apart and you can also see that my husband is wearing a pretty basic, simple pair of boots. There was nothing special happening here that could cause the product to break like this.

Lightweight and Light duty?
It's worked for me so far. However, the construction looks suspect with lightweight components. It does fold up easily and flat, which is good if you wanted to hide it away or maybe travel?

Very easy to use and works great.
This is a handy thing to have when dealing with snow and ice. It's simple to use and works great. No issues with it at all. 5 stars.
