It’s an engaging and fun book for the kids to learn about compasses. It is clear written, there are good explanations and lots of games to o help you learn how to use compasses. It will help your child to gain a valuable skill and develop problem solving skills. Overall, I would recommend this book, especially for those who love outdoor adventures.

I am not a kid but gosh, how I enjoyed this book. I love the realistic pictures, the historical data, the typeface and just about everything else. I feel the spacing could be improved but it takes away nothing from the text.

Found this really helpful to be able to walk through the basics with my kids and showing them how to use a compass. I like the suggestion for how to use it and the games involved which help make it more fun for when you are on holiday. The only thing I would say is that it lacks a little clarity around how to use it with maps and could do with some extra photos, but apart from that, it does what it says - great intro for kids to proper navigation rather than just relying on your smart phone as in real life situations, you don't always have reception!

This is a fairly detailed book and covers everything you need to know about using a compass. The challenges and activities are a great idea and it covers all the essentials like how to hold and use it properly, and basic navigation skills.
