for linux be carefull
Minisforum UM870 Slim The Minisforum UM870 Slim has known issues with Wi-Fi connectivity when running Ubuntu. The device uses a MediaTek MT7902 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, which is not currently supported by Linux kernels, meaning Ubuntu cannot recognize the Wi-Fi interface during installation or operation from a live USB. This is a documented problem reported by users and confirmed in testing, where the system detected Bluetooth but not the Wi-Fi interface. While some users have reported no Wi-Fi issues, the consensus is that the MediaTek chip lacks proper Linux driver support, making it a significant hurdle for Linux users. The recommended workaround is to use a USB Wi-Fi dongle until broader driver support becomes available. Replacing the internal Wi-Fi card is theoretically possible but complicated due to the difficulty of reattaching the internal antennas.

My first mini PC and it's brilliant. In some ways it's made my bigger, noisy gaming desktop PC redundant. Firstly it's really quiet, great for office work. It's efficient in wattage making it cheap to run for 8 hours a day. You can throw any app at it and it'll handle it. Around 10w idle, and 65w during gaming. It's not a gaming PC, but it can play games and play very well. Check out the YouTube videos. For reference I've tried it with CS2 (100fps) Witcher3(50fps dx11) Helldivers2 (40fps) no problems, on 1080p on low/medium settings. And can go even higher if you turn on quality scaling. Can support 3 monitors at the same time. Overall brilliant, fast, energy efficient, quiet and tiny :)

I was a little apprehensive to purchase this product as I've never owned a PC or Laptop from anyone other than the main brands (Lenovo, HP, Dell etc), but went ahead anyway as the reviews for MinisForums products were by and large ok. I am glad I did. This device packs so much value and punch into a small package. Sure, it's not for gaming, but if that's what you're looking for I am sure you're not looking at this product. I use this primarily for audio production/DAW work, and general everyday use. It's handled all of that excellently. No overheating or noise issues so far (this thing is very quiet). Ability to upgrade the RAM in the future as well as nice. Definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a PC for a great price.

I bought this on behalf of my employer for work. It is now the best and fastest PC I am using right now. It beats the 13900H Nitro laptop and my home 12700K desktop. Extremely happy with MinisForum. I set it up with the LAN port and then tested the WiFi6e, it was flawless. It reached speeds of 500GB/s on my home network. I have Fibre to the home and Telstra have increased the 115MB/s to 500 and the mini pc eat it up. I need it to edit large construction drawings in Acrobat Reader Pro and it is very snappy and I couldn’t be happier with the performance of such a small PC. Note it is mounted vertically on the back of a monitor. The picture quality is worth noting as exceptional on HDMI2.1 at 4K.

I was disappointed in the Manual it said very little in many languages. I wanted technical details on setting up the video output to get the most from my 8k monitor system. After 3 days I have Windows11PRO and Office installed and working. All is well now.
