7mm-08 dummy rounds
Well made and offer some nice functionality. It’s hard to find 7mm-08 at a reasonable price from the usual manufacturers. More than the usual two cartridges allow for more safe and realistic training opportunities for new shooters in particular. My wife used these to learn to load and unload an integral magazine with confidence. I’m rating this 5 stars. The website isn’t cooperating.

Perfect size for magazine tubes
Great weight to simulate live rounds. Glad that they’re not overly long like some live shells that won’t allow loading a full shot tube. They are slightly longer than Hornady and Federal shells, but not long enough to interfere topping off my Beretta Ultima Patrol like the Monarch shells do. Have gone through numerous dry fire exercises and function checks without the need to replace any of the primer pads. Good quality; built tough.

Great product for dry fire or malfunction training
They work great. The plastic bullet threads out of the case. So they can mimic empty cases if so desired. They are heavier then I expected although they are lighter the loaded rounds. They have a small piece of rubber that cushions the firing pin and replacement rubber comes in the case. I like the orange bullet tip. It makes them easier to find if they are used for malfunction clearing and end up on the ground. Over all I'm impressed. On thing to be aware of. The dummy rounds are the same color as nickel plated cases so they can be mistaken for live rounds or vis versa during press checks.

Good Quality
I like the quality of these training caps. The weight is very nice and they fit my pistol magazine as good as a standard bullet. And they eject well. Manually of course. I would like to see a person be able to purchase the little striker pads by themselves. But not a dealbreaker.

Great product for safely learning to solve problems.
Fantastic for practicing safely. I use these in my bed and on my couch. I can finally teach my wife and daughters to put the magazine in, rack the slide, and fire away. The first time I handed my wife and youngest daughter a gun, they both put their index finger on the trigger and pointed at me. That’s why you need snap caps. These have a solid weight to them. I love that I can dry fire and practice clearing jams and honing my skills that don’t have to be practiced on a range or with live rounds. The only problem I have is occasional jamming. I think they sit forward in the magazine if I don’t push them back. I also notice the orange piece unscrewing from the case. The silver lining here is that I get to practice solving these real problems from the comfort of my house. I’m preparing for, and teaching my family how to overcome those problems while in a chaotic situation. I have not had to replace any firing pin cushions yet but I’m grateful to have a full set of replacements and a tool to remove them. The only thing that bugs me is the orange piece unscrewing from the casing. I don’t know why you would want to take that off. There could be a really obvious reason that I’m not seeing, but I’ll be using a tiny bit of glue I will be getting more of these because the value for money is fantastic, the quality is superb and the ability to safely learn these techniques in the comfort of your home, is priceless.

7mm-08 Ruger American Gen 1
The 7mm-08 runs flawlessly in my Ruger American Gen 1. All fed from the magazine and just from throwing a loose round in the chamber. Definitely a good value for 6 rounds of dummy ammo.

Good starter practice option
If you need to get the general feel of your new gun without hitting the range this is a good start. Basic feel and mechanics. The range is the go to spot but this can get you started in home. They fit well, eject cleanly and protect the firing pin. Good starter practice option to learn safe loading, cocking and shell ejection.

EDIT 2025/08/05: After seeing my review, the seller Gordon reached out to me to see if I would test a new TPU material they're using on the base of their 22LR snap caps to see if it would resolve the problems. He sent me replacement bases free of charge. I tested the new snap cap bases, and I'm happy to report that they work GREAT! I tested the snap caps in the same 22LR RIA Feather rifle, and all 5 magazines manually fed and ejected the dummy rounds without issue! And none of the magazine followers got stuck like they did with the old gummy rubber either - everything was very smooth! I give 5 STARS for the current version of this product, and 5 STARS for the amazing service and customer care by GORTAR. Thanks, Gordon! ***************** I have the .223 and 12 gauge versions of these snap caps, and those are great. BUT these .22LR ones are really not that great. The problem is that the orange rubber cover on the base thickens the base just enough to cause ejection problems. The orange rubber cover also extends very slightly over the edge of the round's base, causing these rounds to stick in magazines and fail to feed. For these reasons they're useless for dry fire practice or running drills. They're ideal for practicing to clear jams though! For the record, these experiences were on A RIA TM-22 Feather rifle. All 5 mags and the firearm itself feed and cycle live Federal ammo, so it's the snap caps causing the problems.

Simply works, has several replacement rubber end caps so you can wear them out without worrying.

I purchased these for cycling through a firearm which is notorious for rejecting short brass shells. However I spent a solid 10 minutes intentionally trying to induce a malfunction and it just didn't happen. These cycle cleanly and do exactly what you need them to do. If your shottie tends to reject low brass you may be as surprised as I was. Good stuff.
