I ordered this kit on a whim and decided to try it out the day it arrived. I unpacked everything, read through the instructions, and started heating the wax in the microwave. The instructions said to warm it for 2 minutes (for a 1000w microwave), but when I checked, the wax was still rock hard and barely warm. No big deal—I added time in 30-second increments as recommended, heating, checking, heating, checking.It took at least another 3 minutes before the wax even started to soften. That was concerning because the instructions specifically say not to heat it for more than 4 minutes total, as the cup might start to melt. This was my biggest frustration: the wax took much longer to heat than the instructions suggested, putting me into that “don’t heat this long” warning zone.Once the wax was finally warm enough, it reached a texture like honey. I made sure to stir it thoroughly because the heat wasn’t evenly distributed, and some parts were noticeably warmer than others.Following the instructions, I tested it on the inside of my wrist. It didn’t feel too hot there, but when I applied it to more sensitive skin, it felt significantly warmer. It wasn’t unbearable, but I can see how it might be painful if you’re not careful about the temperature.When it came to the actual waxing, I was surprised. After the wax cooled, a quick rip was all it took. I had braced myself for pain, but it was almost painless—way better than plucking individual hairs and much faster than trimming. I expected a lot worse, so this was a pleasant surprise.Now that I’ve used it, I’m happy with the kit overall. There’s plenty of wax and applicators included, so it’ll last me a long time. Just be cautious about the heating time and temperature. That’s the only part of this process that felt a bit tricky. Otherwise, it’s an easy and effective solution for hair removal.

You get everything you need with this kit.It works and isn’t as painful as I was expecting, however, it was a bit messier .I would recommend using your phone as a timer set to about 100seconds as it hurts more if the wax cools too much and also use the upper lip guard as the wax does get a bit messy.The only issue I had was getting the wax to melt in the first place. My microwave is much stronger than the guide one but I could not get the wax to soften.Eventually I placed the wax pot in a deep dish of water and microwaved that until the water was boiling and let it stand until the wax melted.

This is a great little torture device. I was so excited to get this and could not wait to try it out. I began by heating the wax for 140 seconds and then continued to add 30 seconds increments until it was honey like consistency. I applied the glorious mustache which is a must even if you don't have facial hair since the wax can drip out a little bit. My boyfriend then helped out with putting the applicators in, locking me in to a certainty of impending pain within the next two mins. What ensued was the most hilarious video of him torturing me by not holding back and pulling out these tiny sticks of pain and then showing me the proofs of how well this amazing this product works. The wipes were the only thing that provided comfort during this side quest. Thankfully the pain didn't last long and being able to breathe without obstruction for a few weeks sounds wonderful. There's a good amount of wax included for this to last for many uses.

I’d say that if you’re interested in waxing your nose and ear hair, this would be a great kit to buy. It has all the basics. The wax comes in a very study, heat-resistant plastic mug with a lid. Just remove the lid and microwave until the wax is soft (see instructions). Dip the applicator into the wax when it cools a bit and becomes thick, then pull it out and insert the tip into your nostril. There’s are disposable guards for your mustache if you have one. Once the wax hardens, after about 2 minutes, just yank the applicator out quickly. There’s actually no pain, just a sound. It beats clipping weekly or tweezing (ouch). They supply individually wrapped wipes to clean up and soothe irritated skin. I didn’t need them. You can even use this kit for ear hair. All around, this is a great beginners kit, or even just a maintenance kit if you don’t feel like investing in an electric wax pot.

The directions provide a microwave heating time based on microwave power, but it wasn't nearly enough for me. I had to add a minute onto the time to get the wax warm enough, but then it was easy to put some on the applicator. I kept it in about 90 secs and then pulled it out with hair attached.

We've tried earlier versions of kits like this and decided to try this one specifically because the wax cup had a screw on lid and handle which are both improvements over many kits out there.This is a good kit, your success will depend on following the instructions and your commitment to a firm yank once the wax sets in your nose.WARM HINTS:Watch your surroundings and make sure there is nothing behind your arm and elbow so when you yank you don't accidentally bang your elbow.Don't go cheap on the wax, put enough on so that it fully enrobes your nose hair.Don't push to far up, if you are pushing you are probably grabbing hair that can't be seen anyway.Commit to a swift yank in one motion, the initial pull will hurt but it will pass quickly.Please note I use this scale for my reviews:5 Star - Exceeded my expectations, highly recommend, would purchase again4 Star - Met my expectations, very good product, probably would purchase again3 Star - Good item with comments as to why it did not meet my expectations.
