It is very good at catching flies, or any small insects
I have these little flies around my house. They are about the size of a fruit fly. But even my exterminator doesn’t know what they are. So I had one of these in the kitchen. It works like a charm. I bake sourdough at least 4 days a week, the flies were getting in my proofer. Can you imagine how gross it is to open a box a find these little flies on top of your dough. I threw away so much dough. So I purchased another one to sit right next to my proofer. It catches almost every fly. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It is a little noisy but that it just the fan working. It’s very easy to set up and maintain. You pull out the drawer at the bottom of the fan. Place a glue board at the bottom of that little drawer. Place it back into the machine. I place apple cider vinegar in the cup at the top. Place a drop of dish soap in it close the top, place it right in the middle of the fan. Plug it in to turn it on. Then about once a week replace the vinegar mixture. It holds a very large amount of flies on the sticky pad. I pulled out the drawer when I replace the vinegar mixture. Then when it’s full you take out that sticky pad an just throw it away. Replace sticky board are available. The light at the top is very bright. But that is part of design that helps attract the flies.

A kitchen staple!
Honestly, not sure what I did before this contraption. Especially in the summertime when our windows are open more often, this really does the job it advertises. I mean, just look at the photos I provided. Look at all those tiny gnats and mosquitoes! Insane. I mean, we didn’t even know we had that many bugs flying around because you can’t even see them. But then you check this sticky pad after a few days and realize that this contraption is absolutely a necessity, especially in the kitchen.I’ve been using this for a few years now and have thought about purchasing another one to place in a different part of the house because it really is worth it.

It actually works! Always keep it running 2 weeks and you’ll catch things!
It actually works!!! I’d be giving it 5 stars but the first one that came in was super dirty and 100% pre-used when I was supposed to get a new one. But the product itself works very well. I keep mine on 24/7 in my kitchen and move it around the house every few days. It’s caught many fruit flies, mosquitos and bigger mosquitos! It didn’t catch things super quickly but over a 2 week period it caught 15-20 bugs!

Bad Batch?
I just bought replacement sticky pads for this Katchy unit. I had a sudden influx of fungus gnats (on my plants) so I pulled out the Katchy and ordered new sticky pads. The flies are getting trapped in the unit but are walking right across the sticky pads…..and yes I removed the protective paper LOL. The only thing that has stuck are a few moths and the flies that I pushed down into the sticky pad with my finger (the ones that did not fly out when I opened it. Not very impressed. I originally purchased the katchy for my mother who regifted it to me because it did not work for her. Maybe she was right! Although it did seem to work for me at first, currently it seems to be the replacement pads that are not working well. I considered buying an off brand of replacements to see how they would work but I recently picked up a different brand trap at my local hardware store that plugs into the wall and uses a light to attract the insects. This new trap has worked great. The traps have the right amount of stickiness that flies, moths and mosquitoes have stuck well to.I discovered by accident that the CLR cleaner for rust and lime is a great attractant for fruit flies and fungus gnats (I was soaking an item to get rid of rust and came back to a bowl full of flies). So in addition to the new trap I also keep a small dish of CLR lime and rust remover on the countertop and near my plants (I don’t have kids).
