No More Game Uninstall Roulette – Worth the Investment
As someone who constantly juggles game installs on my Xbox Series X, this WD storage expansion has been a lifesaver. After six months of use, I can confidently say it delivers exactly what it promises – seamless extra storage without compromising performance.- Plug-and-play simplicity – recognized by my Xbox instantly with no setup needed- Identical performance to the internal SSD – games load just as fast- Compact design stays flush with the console (no ugly protrusions)- 1TB capacity lets me keep 10-15 AAA games installed simultaneously- Reliable heat management – never gets hot even during 8-hour gaming sessionsConsiderations:- The price per GB is steep compared to regular external HDDs (but you're paying for the speed)- Only works with Xbox Series X|S (can't repurpose it as a general-use drive)- White version shows dust more than the black consoleI primarily use it for:1) Keeping Call of Duty and other huge games permanently installed2) Quickly swapping between Game Pass titles without waiting for downloads3) Storing next-gen optimized games that require SSD speedsIf you're tired of uninstalling games to make space, this is the only storage solution that keeps the full Xbox Series X experience intact. While not cheap, it's eliminated my storage anxiety completely.

Worth it if you have a base Series S. Don’t fall for the cloud gaming hype!
Bought this back in November and it’s been rock solid ever since. Speeds are super fast! it’s literally plug and play. Just slide it in and your Xbox Series S or X picks it up instantly. Quick Resume works flawlessly too. Some people say storage like this is useless now that Xbox is pushing cloud gaming, but that really depends on your setup. If you’re like me and using a base Series S, you’ll quickly run out of space. Want to have COD and Forza installed at the same time? You’re gonna need something like this. Cloud gaming is only realistic if you live near the right servers and have ultra-fast, low-latency internet which is not exactly common for everyone.I’m glad I snagged it on sale. Not the cheapest at full price, but totally worth it for the convenience. I love being able to store and pre-install games from my phone even when I’m not at my setup. Read/write speeds are lightning fast, and it even comes with a free Game Pass trial. Between that and Xbox’s backwards compatibility, you can pack hundreds of games onto this little thing. Neat.

Great quality product. Allowed me to expand my internal storage on my Xbox. Works as described. Also a great price. Speed is great. Capacity exactly what I needed. And it's easy to use. It's compatible with Xbox series x and s. No data loss.

Works like a dream, even for new games!
Trying to be more diligent about writing reviews to help people. So here what I wanted to know before I bought that I found out after ordering.Very easy to use, sleek black design, almost completely disappears once plugged in right. Easy to carry around with the little case it comes with. Worked for my wife’s Xbox series s flawlessly, expanding the storage to 1T.Now the important stuff. Every ssd and had I’ve bought, have been utterly useless. I wanted to be able to play my games, not just store them to have to constantly move them around. This little stick, easy to connect into the back of the console, has changed the game. It’s entirely x/s compatible. And by that I mean it will run whatever game you put in it. Unlike other devices that cannot run modern series x/s games, this has zero problem running it. Used it to run Diablo 4, call of duty, GTA online, it works for all the big titles the competition can only dream of. You literally just plug it in, and it’s ready to use as if it was just your console. One gamer to another, take the leap. I wouldn’t even stop here, get the 1T version, really max out your fun!!!!!

Best storage option for series x
Seamlessly starts right back up where I was at when I turn the system back on with no loading times. If you wish to use quick resume with no swapping load files then this is the storage unit you're looking for

GAMES ARE MASSIVE....YOU KNOW YOU NEED MORE STORAGE!
Modern games are huge! You have a bunch of storage which sounds like a lot when you first get your Xbox. You purchase and download a few of your favorite big name title games and next thing you know you are getting warnings about reaching full capacity for storage. This WD Black storage expansion card is the easiest way to solve this issue. Even if you bought the 1TB version of the Xbox it's just convenient having more room so you don't have to do the install/uninstall juggle to play different games. Especially if you have a few regular games you play that take up space and then you want to have a few other that you are playing in between. This is by Western Digital which is a trusted name in storage. I have had PC hard rives by them last longer than the actual main components of the computer, and I removed them and put them in the next device or converted them to an external hard drive. This is the absolute easiest solution for a lack of storage issue on the Xbox. You just plug it in and your system detects a second drive. It only sticks out a little bit which makes it easy to remove if you need to. It is solid state drive so the transfer speeds are so fast that you can still play games that are installed directly to this expansion drive. You can easily move games and content between this and the internal drive in the Xbox system storage menu. The only downside to this is the price. I think they are slightly expensive for what it is, especially for the large capacity ones. The unfortunate truth though is that solid state hard drives are still a bit pricey so there is not much you can do. You could get some other brand of a hard drive and take chances but since these are designed for the Xbox they just work seamlessly and instantly and make your life easier.
