Product Description
Four rock-and-pop themed episodes from the groundbreaking animated TV series. In 'The Otto Show' Bart gets a guitar and Otto moves into the Simpson household. 'Homerpalooza' has Homer visit the alternative rock festival Hullabalooza. 'A Tale of Two Springfields' finds Springfield split in two and Homer doing his best to lure The Who, scheduled to play the East, over to the West. 'Homer's Barbershop Quartet' sees Homer recall the days when he was a member of chart-topping singing group The Be Sharps.
From .co.uk
The Simpsons: Backstage Pass is a veritable rock & roll extravaganza: you'll hear a classical version of "Insane in the Membrane" and watch The Who destroying rubbish with pure guitar power. It also features guest performances by The Who, Cypress Hill, The Smashing Pumpkins, Peter Frampton and Spinal Tap. In "Homerpalooza", Homer has a mini mid-life crisis caused by his inability to recognise new bands in the local record store (not even Sonic Youth). The result is a trip for him and the kids to the "Hullabalooza" festival where Homer fulfils his rock star dreams by touring as part of the freak show. "A Tale of Two Springfields" sees the town divided by a change in area code, which only The Who can solve with their infinite wisdom: "Why don't you get phones with auto-dial?". In "The Otto Show" Milhouse and Bart enjoy their first outing to a rock gig to see top super-group, Spinal Tap. Finally, "Homer's Barbershop Quartet" offers the rare opportunity to see Homer sing as part of Springfield's B Sharps, who allegedly rocked America back in 1985! On the DVD: The Simpsons: Backstage Pass offers a collection of Otto's finest moments, proving what a cooool guy the local bus driver is. Otherwise the disc is barren of extras. Picture is standard 4:3 and you can choose between English, French and German audio languages with a vast range of European subtitle options. --Nikki Disney

Episodes: Homerpalooza Worried he is out of touch with the times and a disappointment to his kids, Homer purchases tickets to the ultra cool "Hullabalooza Music Festival" and takes Bart and Lisa. At the concert, Homer tries to blend in but is soon rejected by the Generation X kids. As the crowd rock to Cypress Hill and The Smashing Pumpkins, Homer gets cross and in his rage kicks a cannon...which then fires a cannon ball into his stomach! Surviving the blow seemingly unscathed, Homer is employed by the Festivals Freak Show and joins the tour! A Tale of Two Springfields (250th Episode) When Springfield gets an additional area code, Homer can't cope with having to remember the three extra digits and goes on a mission to divide East and West Springfield. As Mayor of the West side, Homer renames it New Springfield and wages war on all those in Olde Springfield, claiming it's elitist. With the nuclear power plant on his side of town, Homer knocks out the power to everyone in Olde Springfield, and before long the two sides are destroying each other, culminating in most residences of New Springfield jumping ship. It takes a visit from The Who to urge the Springfielders to set aside their area code differences and get speed dialling! The Otto Show Bart and Milhouse go to their first heavy metal concert to see Spinal Tap! With Homer waiting in the car outside, the boys get their first taste of life in the fast lane. Totally overwhelmed by the experience Bart decides he wants to be a rock star, so Marge agrees to buy him a guitar. On the school bus, Otto demonstrates his skills on Bart's guitar but in doing so makes them late. Racing to get to school in time, Otto drives like a man possessed! After a number of drivers ring up to complain, Otto must face Principal Skinner to confess he doesn't even have a driving license. Suspended without pay and forced out of his home, Otto moves into the Simpsons' garage Homer's Babershop Quartet At a Springfield car boot Sale, Bart and Lisa unearth an album entitled "Meet the Be Sharps" with a picture of Homer on the cover. When they ask Homer about it, he reminisces back to 1985, when he, Chief Wiggum, Principal Skinner and Apu formed a Barbershop Quartet. Thrilling Springfield crowds they even get a Manager, who decides Wiggum is a little too "Village People" and recruits Barney instead. The Be Sharps are set for stardom; with sell out concerts, a hit record, and a Grammy under their belts could they end up as the next Fab Four???

Rocking with the Simpsons!
I do love The Simpsons, and although I already have many of the box sets (up to season eight), I still pick out certain single DVDs, if the 'theme' should interest me. On this DVD, we have four music-themed episodes, all of which are very good, and feature the real members of some of the world's most famous rock bands, voicing their animated 'Simpsons' style selves. The Simpsons AND rock music? What an irresistible combination. Just grab a (Duff) beer and enjoy! The episodes are:1. A Tale of Springfields (season 12) - the 250th episode, and guest starring The Who.2. Homerpalooza (season 7) - with The Smashing Pumpkins, Cypress Hill and Sonic Youth, all guest starring as themselves.3. Homer's Barbershop Quartet (season 5) - in a story which roughly parallels The Beatles, George Harrison and David Crosby guest star as themselves.4. The Otto Show (series 3) - Spinal Tap guest star as themselvesAs a nice little bonus, there is also a short special feature of cool bus driver Otto's 'finest moments'.

A star in its self !!!
This was one the most fantastic Simpsons videos i have purchesed. It was full of viewing enjoyment. In the first episode 'A tale of two Springfeilds' is the very best for me. i liked the way they put The Who into it they never just stuck them in at the start they waited until they thought it was the right time. I also enjoyed the second episode 'Homerpalooza' it was weird but funny. In the third episode 'Homer's Barbershop Quartet' they included quite alot of stars such as 'dexy's midnight runners' 'George Harrison' and 'Bing Crosby'. The invention of the 'Be-Sharps' was well made and the idea of barney being a good singer, top class episode. The last episode was not as good as the rest to me. not very much action but alot of info in this episode. OK but not one of my favourites. In all i think this VHS is the best Simpsons VHS yet with all the music and stars and inventions.

Mayhem mixed with Music
This fantastic video contains four histerical episodes: "A Tale of Two Springfields" when Springfield gets split into two, due to a change in area codes. A magnificent episode featuring The Who. "Homerpalooza", in which Homer becomes a member of a freak show, and tours with The Smashing Pumpkins. "Homer's Barbershop Quartet" shows Homer in his own singing group, along with Apu, Principal Skinner, Barney and briefly Chief Wiggum. In "The Otto Show" Homer and his family have to suffer the annoyance of the fact that Otto is living in their garage, noisely of course. If you enjoy this video, is advise Film Festival.

Nice...but
As a massive Simpsons fan, I love any Simpsons episode or anything Simpsons related so therfore this is great BUT I don't think you are getting value for money here with just four episodes when you can get more episodes for a few quid more.Great, but invest in the other box sets first.
