Best way to put small things in dishwasher.

The hinges on these are not well put together you have to use your tools too clamp them down. I have bought this model three times and this time they are much less sturdy. They would work fine in a dishwasher. I use them in a barn

Bought this in June 2019, writing this review in March 2024. It's only just started to rust in a couple spots in the last few months. Nothing broke ever. Worked great for the small items I occasionally had.I kept this in the dishwasher through every cycle even if it wasn't in use, and every clean (Affresh tab monthly), so it was by no means babied or only "used" a few times. The only times it was ever removed was maybe a handful of times I needed the space it occupied for an oddly shaped dish.One thing I think is important to note is that I never had anything sharp in it, just small plastic pieces, so nothing could put a cut in the paint to start the rust early. If anyone is curious, I use Cascade Platinum ActionPacs, Finish Jet-Dry rinse aid, Affresh dishwasher tablets about once per month, and run my dishwasher an *average* of 2-3 times a week (sometimes once one week or even 3 times in a day). My dishwasher is a ~20 year old GE Nautilus.The condition it's in now is very reasonable for the use it's had (hundreds of cycles at this point) over the time I've had it. Nothing will last forever.

Not sure what happened here, but the unit I keep at my house is fine, no damage or deterioration. The one at my daughter's house has the coating coming off and the rusty metal exposed. We'll have to discard it.

I have several small things that, although they are dishwasher safe, they can fall through the racks to the bottom. This is a good solution for me! I can put corn-on-the-cob holders, pill bottles, jar lids, and any number of small things into the basket, without their falling through and needing to be retrieved. I use mine daily and have bought more for gifts.

This review was posted for about one week. The company responded in that time frame and offered a full refund for their product. “I bought this in 2024. It is still 2024 and the vinyl coating has cracked. The inner part is rusting and crumbling. Does not last.”

As far back as I can remember, I have always had a basket similar to this one sitting in the top rack of my dishwasher - they're just what's needed to hold the small things that you can't just put into the dishwasher loose, but not so big that they take up a massive amount of space. Generally, after several years' use, the white coating eventually cracks and I buy a new one. The design of the baskets I had previous to these had the bottom just slightly smaller than the top (so the sides were at a very slight angle), and that did make a difference with a few items that didn't fit as well as I would have liked.This particular brand that I recently bought is perfect because the bottom of the basket is the same width as the top (which is the same as some baskets I had quite a number of years ago), and it really makes a difference (in my opinion). While this is a small purchase, I am very pleased and would definitely recommend this product.
