When I bought this item, I was very sceptical about such an inexpensive item offering so much, the kit exceeded my expectations!The movement is silky smooth and effortless!Timing is very easy to work out due to a guide on the slider itselfThe timer units are compatible with each other and allow you to do linear, panning and tilting, this has never been an affordable option before (anywhere!!!)Extra track is very cheap and extremely sturdy, offering a 1/4 thread on each junction for use with a tripod!You can also use the integrated feet for low shotsTo get even lower shots I have used a cheap “L” bracketBattery life is reasonably good but if you’re going to be out for a while, I’d advise a powerbank for additional support, I use a trust powerbank but anything over 400mAh will do!This kit is extremely lightweight and will fit very well in a backpack or bag that is over 16” internal diameter!The dolly is a fab accessory, I have used a monopod in conjunction with it to do some cool circular videosIf you just use the head, you can do some picture perfect panoramicsAnother unexpected use for this kit is “painting with light”, if you fix a light source, such as a lightweight torch you can produce some amazingly precise lines and curves!This stuff you can do with this kit is fantasticIt’s inexpensive, it’s light and so versatileCustomer service is excellent, a rare commodity these days, all questions get answered in a timely and professional mannerTo summarise, this kit is a very good investment...I love itPlease see pictures of some of the combinations I have usedMostly I use this in conjunction with my iPhone on timelapse mode, I also use my keymission and Sony alpha a6000, all give astounding resultsWith this kit, you can carry it everywhere and never miss that sunset or cloud formation you’ve been dreaming of!Bravo gripgear - this is a game changer!

I love the product, for what I need it for as an amateur film maker is perfect. Quick to set up, easily stored. A question I have for maybe a future update would to have some curved slider/track this would give some incredible shots all just using the slider. A great tip that I’ve found for getting more cinematic shots is by attaching a light enough gimbal with app capability to then track a certain point making it pretty much hands free. I love this product, completely inexpensive, you get what you pay for. Only issue is the high speed to really notice the movement but I haven’t really found that as a real problem!

Firstly this kit is extremely portable and very well thought out, at the price I cannot fault how it works. The remote control is ok but you do need to be very close to get it to work but that really isn't too much of an issue as you would expect to be near the device anyway and it does mean you don't have to risk knocking the slider out of position by physically pressing buttons. The kit itself is well packaged and will easily fit into a camera bag, all that is left is to let your imagination run free and create some great content. In future I would like to see an automated pan incorporated but I guess at this price that is asking quite a lot. I have used it with iPhone, Sony RX100M3 and despite the manual giving a limit to the weight, my Canon 700D. Although if using something like a small DSLR then I do suggest locking the tilt head with pliers to prevent slip as the head is the weak link which prevents heavier cameras being used.

This item has so much potential.Its light and very portable and have created some great timelapses with my sony A6000.The only drawbacks is that the remote does not have much range at all.I had to get within 20cm for it to work.Secondly the ball head screwing mechanism doesn't seem robust plus the screw that holds it in place doesn't seem it will last very long.The most frustrating thing though is that the battery life seems to be getting less each time I use it.I eventually had to resort to powering it from a powerbank.I believe I must have received a faulty one.The remote to be honest isn't a necessity but if you could find a suitable mini ball head for this in case the bundled one broke this slider would be ideal.The rails provided are narrow but rigid and it doesn't rely on a rubber belt.I had mine on an almost vertical angle with my sony A6000 on it and didn't seem to struggle.Shame my battery wasn't working properly.If they released a different updated version of this I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.One last thing to point out is that you get a small attachment to do panning shots but this has to be used separate from the slider.If you attach it to the motor while on the slider you have to rotate the whole thing for it to work while panning and sliding but the motor won't handle it being on its side.This could easily be rectified if it was better thought out.

Easy and quick to setup, small enough to always have it with you. For me it needs some weight on it, with the iPhone it was jittering a little sometimes.

Worst kind of slider ever used

Had this unit for just over 2 years now with moderate use and stopped working altogether. Very disappointed as it has been well looked after and was great for time lapse with a GoPro or small camera.

Te ofrece lo mismo que sliders motorizados 4 ó 5 veces más caros. Además puedes llevarlo en una mochila y pesa muy poco. Está claro que si pones una cámara de más de medio kilo pueda parecer endeble pero yo lo he probado con una cámara de 600 gr. (cámara y objetivo) y va perfecto. Puedes comprar más raíles y montar un super slider del tamaño que quieras pudiendo guardarlo en cualquier bolso.

The media could not be loaded.  Il video allegato evidenzia il risultato disastroso dell'accoppiamento fra grip gear e Iphone 7. Stesso risultato con altro smartphone. Ho disabilitato wifi-bluetooth-dati cellulare e ho riprovato : niente. Ho cambiato le impostazioni video sullo smartphone, alleggerendo il carico. Niente. Ho fatto infine un test con Una GoPro Hero Session. Decisamente meglio ma sullo sfondo si evidenziano comunque tremolii sulle linee verticali. Non so cosa fare se renderlo o chiedere la sostituzione. Per il momento ho inviato un feedback negativo al venditore

There are so many good things about GripGear's Movie Maker 2 Set that I just had to take the plunge and purchase it despite some of the problems identified by various youtube reviews. Unfortunately, I have to agree with many of their points and eventually, had to admit that some are showstoppers for me.First, I want to state what is good about the Movie Maker 2 Set:-- Low cost, comparatively. While there are other sliders that are in the same price range, those don't have the same versatility and portability. The motor can be used by itself to get 360 panorama shots and the track can be broken down and easily fit in a backpack. Additional lengths of track can also be purchased separately at a low cost. No other product on Amazon does all of this and would require separate purchases.-- Remote control. While we expect remotes for almost everything electronics these days, I was surprised by the fact that many sliders/panorama motors do not come with one.-- Versatility. Already mentioned previously, but I really want to emphasize that this is a unique feature of this product. In addition to the points already listed, the Movie Maker 2 set can also be used verticallyNegatives:-- Top speed too slow: I'm in agreement with many youtube reviews that the highest speed is still not fast enough for some shots. This is why you will see many videos shot with this movie maker set sped up, making all of the videos look like timelapses.-- Lowest speed too fast: When doing actual timelapse over two or three hours, the resulting video pans too fast. So while your timelapse subject is moving at the right speed, the camera movement is just too fast, making it uncomfortable to watch.-- Weak 1/4" camera mount. The motor is made very specifically for the camera mount that was included with the set. Unfortunately, if your camera is not balanced or front heavy, it is difficult to get the tilt head to stay put without some grunt work turning the tightening screw.I'm not a professional cinematographer so I thought my requirements would not be very strict, but not being able to get the shots I wanted due to the speed limitations makes me feel like this set is ALMOST what I wanted but it's just not there yet. I hope that the manufacturer can improve this product a little more and bring it across the finish line.

The Movie Maker 2 slider kit for small cameras is a very portable and functional kit for making dramatic time-lapse and short video productions using a small camera. I’m using this with a Panasonic LUMIX ZS60 compact travel camera, and it handles all positions with that camera perfectly. The best features include being able to use this not only as a slider, but also as a 360 degree rotating mount. Definitely worth the additional cost to the Movie Maker 2 system to also purchase the Micro Dolly kit adds much more functionality for creative shots, and add extra track sections.This is an excellently-designed and well-engineered product. It is small, light weight, and versatile for all sorts of creative shots!My only (somewhat) negative about this product is the design of the 3rd party ball head (which is an integral component of this kit). The ball head is definitely not up to the quality and engineering standards of the rest of this well-designed and well-executed kit!
