When you are time poor the guess work is taken out
The setup is quick and easyFollow every step exactly as the instructions sayand there are no issuesI had excellent results on the first try for an hour with the “deeper start” then the device stopped working and would not connect to wifiThe comprehensive troubleshooting guide helped me find the issue quickly( which turned out to be a phone setting )Give the unit time to connect . It can be a little slow.The graphics are excellent, the schools of salmon were located quicklyHowever, remember that even when you find them they may not be on the bite!😆

Deeper START is fun to use.
I have a local lake that I bank fish and I had no real idea of depth and structure. I decided to give this Deeper START a shot and see what it could do. This device is about idiot proof. The instructions are clear and concise, and it worked immediately with my first cast into the water. I have had no issue with connectivity except under one condition - windy, choppy water. If it is still and just bobbing up and down over the chop you will lose connectivity. When I started reeling it in slowly it maintained connection. As for accuracy, I think the depth readings are vegetation readings are accurate and I use that knowledge to pick lures etc. As for finding fish I think the jury is still out (but i have only used it a handful of times). The device marks fish of course but I have not actually caught anything based on the markings. For the price I think this is a fun gadget to own. I could spend all day just throwing it out and reeling it in just to see what's underwater. For just a simple bank fisherman like me it gets the job done.

THIS THING IS AMAZING
I couldn’t get a depth finder for my boat so I got this little guy sonar is great works perfectly, I will be keeping this and not worrying about a depth finder that cost a few hundred dollars.

Lots of issues with APP
Purchased June 2018. Used for shoreline Salmon fishing. Using I phone 8+. Has consistent connectivity issues. We have been working with their customer service since last year. They are aware and this year rolled out a new APP which we hoped would solve the issues we are having. It works intermittently and is great when it does. But 5 minutes later it won't work and even though it's connected, there is a black screen - it won't move right to left as it should. We have tried everything they suggested with disconnecting WiFi enable phone settings, updating the APP, deleting APP and reloading, restarting phone, buying the phone holder for the pole so that phone is always at the right angle, standing on our head...you get the point. Now they won't exchange it even though it has a 2 year warranty because we bought it through a 3rd party which I can't tell is a valid vendor anymore because I called the number and it sounds like someones house.Deeper says they are still working on the APP. Right....Not reliable at all for the money. Frustrating, because my husband loved it for the 5 minutes it's worked in the last 2 years. Don't buy until they fix the bugs. Note: Amazon online customer service was no help either. I was asking them to confirm the 3rd party seller and instead they chastised me for wanting to return this outside their 30 day policy window. *Need to add a note that Deeper did take this back after all. They inspected it and it’s on its way back to us so the customer service from their end was impressive. I would buy directly from them in order to avoid the hassle of a 3rd party seller however.

Great With Issues - But Resolved
Update: 3/4/2021Finally Deeper support cleared out my issue! I am a happy camper! New one works perfectly and connects!__________________________________Update: 2/23/2021Received new one. Same issue as before. The unit does not display Deeper START in the Wifi network like the first one I purchased that stopped working after a week. Tried on two different phones, laptops and tablets. What does appear is ESP_2B6442 which is the device but support clarified that is wrong. Nonetheless I tried to connect to that and it immediately fails. So a 3rd unit now does this. Contacting support again and they are sending another one.Wifi+ is off, there is no VPN and the phone has been restarted to eliminate any issues. Device placed on charge or in water and away from other Wifi devices and no effect. Unit is flashing that's it's broadcasting, app has all permissions also but that does not matter when the correct Wifi name can not be connected to. Unit is fully charged, Mobile/Cellular data is off, WiFi assist is off, Smart network management does not exist, Portable WiFi hotspot is off. That covers anything and still does not work properly. I have spent days to make it work and 3 in a row are doing this. I sent them back and waiting for support to diagnose what is going on, Deeper application has permission to use "Mobile/Cellular" and "Location". To check this, go to your "Phone settings" -> "Application settings" and find "Fishdeeper".__________________________________Update: 2/19/2021After speaking with Deeper support they determined a second unit is faulty? They are sending another replacement. I asked they test it before sending it out and they stated they will. Customer service is great but having the company in Lithuania and having to wait to get a replacement from there puts a damper on my fishing schedule and usage of the Deeper. Will update once received.__________________________________Update: 2/14/2021New unit received and same issue. Deeper does not appear on list of Wifi devices to connect to. Does not appear on my Huawei Mate 10 nor my LG K10 nor my new Asus Zenbook nor on my Samsung Galaxy tablet nor on my Dell PC Wifi network. It appears to be a bad batch/series? I have emailed support again to see what they will do again. Initially the first unit I had would display Deeper in the Wifi list to connect to. Then it never appeared again and now only displays ESP_280119 which I know is the unit due to the serial number but you can never connect to it. It just fails when you try. This is what both units are doing now. I have emailed their support for an answer but I mentioned that it appears they have a bad batch of these and are not being certified tested leaving the factory.__________________________________Update: 2/13/20214 stars now. After contacting support, they determined my unit was faulty. They are sending a new replacement at no charge via UPS. Will see how the replacement is received and how it works.__________________________________Update: 2/8/2021 Changed from 1 to 2 star for now.After contacting Deeper support they (quickly, one day turn time) determined that the unit is to exchanged. Now that is what I call excellent service! I will update again once this issue is resolved and the replacement is received and how it works and what occurred with Deeper support.__________________________________Initial review: 2/4/2021Purchased a week ago. Only used it once and it worked perfectly. One week later it does not work anymore. Does not show in Wi-Fi anymore to connect to. Contacted support. Never seen a device fail so quickly with hardly any usage, disappointing.
