Metamucil does what you expect it to do.

From the description it is hard to figure out the cost per dose. These are smaller packages that I have purchased before, so the cost per dose was quite a bit higher. I might have been better off buying a single larger container. The product is what it is. I suspect this is special Walmart size packaging.

This is a wonderful addition to my smoothies. I now use it as a base most of the time. It is absolutely delicious without any "sugar". As a diabetic, it is my"go to treat". There are no directions on the container or suggestions to make smoothies with it, but it works for me. I toss in strawberries, peaches, mangoes..whatever fruit...fresh or canned and blend it. Absolutely great...thick and smooth. I use ice cubes to make it nearly a frozen drink.

I have used this for over 20 yrs based on the recommendation of my doctor after I had my first colonoscopy. It is wonderful and works perfectly. You can save a ton of money if you buy generic from big box stores....but they sell it so cheaply because they have so much filler (gelatin) in their brands and they simply don't work well at all. You need to use 2-3 times the amount of the real stuff.
