HersmayTripod Collar Mount Ring for Canon RF 100-400mm F/5.6-8 is USM Lens Contemporary

I ordered this mounting ring for my RF100-400mm lens. It weighs 122g and is designed to clamp around the body of the lens just in front of the controls at the back. It is lightly textured with what appears to be heavy paint splatter and holds the lens in place with a thin layer of foam and a hex thumbscrew.As other reviewers have noted the index marking at the top doesn't line up with 'level' when mounted on the lens. I also noted that not only is it difficult to get the collar straight on the lens, it is very easy to move it even when tightened to max hand-tightness. Because of these issues it's impossible to put the collar on the lens the same way twice in a row, so when using this collar you should expect to have to align and adjust things each time you use it. If you use a ball head on your tripod you're already accustomed to doing this so won't cause you any extra work.Based on other reviews I wasn't expecting perfection and in that regard I wasn't disappointed. If you think of this as a budget collar for a budget lens I think that it hits the mark quite nicely.

Il prodotto è stato lavorato da persone che di meccanica non capiscono nulla, mal rifinito, sicuramente non è stato provato sull'obiettivo altrimenti si sarebbero accorti che il serraggio non funziona, ho dovuto modificarlo e adattarlo all'obiettivo.Chiederei di controllare prima di vendere, il prezzo non è proporzionato all'accessorio.

J'ai emprunté un objectif Canon RF 100-400mm une après midi pour les besoins de ce test et je dois dire que la proposition de ce collier ne me satisfait pas vraiment.Le côté plaque Arca Swiss ça pas de soucis l'usinage est ok même s'il n'y a aucune goupille de sécurité ou autre, on a aussi tout un ensemble de perforation 1/4 et et 3/8 donc pas de soucis pour monter cette bague sur la plupart des trépieds.Mais avec mon Canon EOS R et l'objectif l'anneau ne fais pas vraiment le travail, ni l'objectif Canon qui ni l'anneau n'ont été pensés pour cette utilisation en fait, il y a du jeu l'alignement n'est pas parfait, pour basculer d'une position horizontale à verticale c'est lent et peu pratique et peu précis.Au final avec un tel objectif qui fait autour de 750 grammes on s'en sort bien mieux avec une simple plaque sous le boitier et notamment un bracket en L bien plus simple d'utilisation, bien plus pratique, bien plus fiable que cet anneau.Pour que ça fonctionne l'anneau devrait être plus large et il faut surement repenser sérieusement son design pour permettre une bascule rapide entre position horizontale et verticale avec un système de cran ou verrouillage.Côté finitions je ne sais pas si c'est volontaire mais la peinture semble avoir fait des bulles partout, c'est très hétérogène pour sembler être un choix esthétique. La construction est robuste mais je ne suis pas convaincu globalement.

It fits the Canon RF 100-400mm lens perfectly, providing stability and balance. However, it could benefit from a bit more padding to prevent scratches on the lens.

Was hoping for good tripod collar mount but this wasn't it for my RF 100-400. Upon receiving it the colar mount part wasn't seated into the Arca mount so had to disassemble and seat it in correctly so it was 90 degrees vs like 84 degrees. Paint quality isn't that great, looks like the spray can was about empty with all the odd looking bumps all over the paint. After mounting to the lens I leveled the camera and the cross hair at the top wasn't centered on the lens center mark. At its tightest the lens was tilting in the colar, could be the foam compressing around the lens made it a tad looser, I dunno. Can't expect much for the price I paid. Still, if you're in a bind and need something like this it will work..sorta.
