I bought this book because I fall in love with Carla Hall every time I see her on TV. She comes across as someone I’d immediately want as a BFF. Her recipes did not disappoint...easy to find ingredients and clear instructions produced excellent results (and I am best described as a culinary non-talent). Her personal stories accompanying the recipes made me feel like I was a lucky tag-along friend who got invited to stay for supper.

One of her best cookbooks ever...easy to follow and the results are great.

This will be a fun cookbook because it has savory recipes that don’t take 20 ingredients! I tried the carrots right away because I had all the stuff. Sounds weird, vinegar and honey but it was great. At a glance all the ingredients are things I already have so it will be fun!

Carla has brought the best comfort recipes. Her loving warmth comes through with food.

I saw Carla Hall on Top Chef, and fell in love with her personality. I saw a recipeof hers in a magazine and cut it out because it was written in such a personable,relatable style.I tried to purchase her book through another company, but was disappointed to findthat it was sold out. That same day, I was so happy to find it at Amazon, and at abetter price! I absolutely love this cookbook! She writes in such an inviting way,and uses ingredients that I can find locally, so I am having fun working my throughthe book.Thanks, Amazon, for having great books at great prices! This is the type of food i like. And i really like what she talks around each recipe. The tips are all very practical and in the right places. Someone talk about lack of pictures which i agree, although i feel the few pictures that do present, were chosen well.

Was disappointed. I like the chef but the selection of souls food she chose are not common dishes and alot of recipes have no pics under them which is paramount
