Look no further
Of all the drum thrones I've either owned or played on, this is by far the best. I had a Pork Pie for a long time, but the seat cushion was too soft for me, sacrificing stability, and also comfort (like bicycle seats, you have to find a happy medium). The seat on this throne is solid enough to allow you to sit anywhere on it without feeling unstable, but it's still really comfortable after hours of playing. The memory locks are extremely solid, and I never have to worry about the seat wobbling or moving down over time (something that quick adjust seats can't offer). The rubber feet on the bottom also seem to add extra overall stability. The slight additional weight isn't an issue knowing that it's totally indestructible.

Going back to a round throne from a tractor seat style
I used a round Yamaha 9000 series throne from the late 70s to around 1998 when I bought a well-known brands tractor seat model. I used that for many years but never really liked it.I wanted to go back to a Yamaha throne, but they don't make a high end round seat any more. So I looked at this DW 9000 throne and so far I am really impressed. Its solid as a rock, with a firm, slightly domed top, which is great for not pinching off the circulation in the back of my legs. I feel so much more comfortable on a round throne and this one is really great.

Very comfortable and excellent quality!
I love this throne. I own the DW 5000 throne and use that one for gigging since it's small and easier to transport. The 5000 has a 13" seat. This DW 9000 throne has a 14" seat, while an inch may not since like a big difference, it definitely makes a huge difference. The memory lock on this throne is very helpful. I keep it in my bands studio for rehearsing or recording. Very comfortable and sturdy. The legs have high quality rubber grips as opposed to the 5000 which has cheaper plastic grips. This throne is the same one used for the DW Airlift seat. 14" as well. It weighs in at 19 pounds vs the 5000 which weighs in at 15 pounds.I highly recommend this seat.

Durable, sturdy, not booty friendly
Like all DW products, this throne is durable and sturdy as a rock. It'll probably hold up to years and years of use. However, the cushion is hard as a rock. After a half hour of sitting on this thing, it's booty ache city. If DW would make the cushion more comfortable, it would get 5 stars.

Best throne ever!!!
This throne is maybe one of the best values for money spent on a place to park yourself. Super sturdy construction and very comfortable. I'm a big guy at 270lbs and this completely supports me without any problems. I never tilt and this never loosens as I play. You won't sit down wrong on this one with the traditional, round seat. Not like the cycle seats. Get one as soon as you can!!!

it's just the best throne out there
I was not sure if the higher price tag was worth it, but I was wrong.. was very much worth it. If my house burns down, part of the insurance money would be used to replace this throne right away.

Nice throne..
I was on the fence with this one or the 5000 series.. This 9000 throne is way firmer, wider and much more comfortable for me. I'm 6'1" 230lbs .. Glad I paid the extra cash for the 9000 series.

most comfortable stool ever
it's huge, it's sturdy, it's comfy, and it's easily adjustable, it only arrived this evening and I haven't had it behind the drums yet but I've been sat on it all night and can already tell there'll be no complaints, well worth the money
