Purchased with assumptions
I think SATA will be slowly phased out in favor of M2. That said, I think it will be around for some years to come and that 2 TB will quickly become ubiquitous. As you're probably aware, SATA SSD drives are notoriously unreliable. Some will last years, others will last months, often of the same brand and model. Thus I purchased 4 of these 2 Tb drives with the idea of a raid 5 array. Assuming at least one drive would eventually fail, I have been pleasantly surprised thus far. After setting up the raid array and filesystem, I was rewarded with 5.5 terabytes of fault tolerant space. I immediately put it to use with a 550 gb file transfer from a local M2 drive. The transfer was fast but the striping took a while to catch up. It was a cheaper solution to a 4 port M2 PCI card with drives. The M2 drives are probably still more expensive at the same capacity.

The Best 2.5" SSD's Out There
My Experience is Only With These 4TB Drives. Which they are out of now!! I Hope They Get a Ton More, They Will All Sell..My Personal Opinion On These Fikwot FX812 PRO 2.5" SSD Drives.....You Can't Really Go Wrong! 4TB With TLC, DRAM CACHE, 3D NAND, And Enough TBW(total bytes written) Ta Outlive 1 Of Your Grandkids....HA!! But Honestly, Their Usually On Sale Here(Amazon) Fa $179. TA $189. And thats the price of The Bottom Barrel 4TB drives these days!!! They're Adverts say Writing tops out around 480 MB/s. Using Crystal Disk, on my FM2+ , I Actually hit a whisker over 500 MB/s On a few tests. They Are Top Of The Line, I'm Sure their prices will skyrocket.... With no special means, I did a little bit of research (i guess u call it that??) It Seems That This company Fikwot, May be the SAME Company/Or A Reasonable facsimile There Of(Stole That From The Stooges 👍👍) As Fanxiang... And You've seen how Their Prices Blew Right Up when They Became Competition To Samsung, WD. Etc....... I'm Going to Pick up a few more while i still can at a decent price... I Just Want To Pass This Along, and at least Help Someone Out .........I Hope 👍GREAT DAY!!!!! JBThis Fikwot FX812 PRO is the Same Inside & Out(except the Names & Markings Of Course) As The Fanxiang 4TB S109 - SAME TLC, With DRAM CACHE, 3D NAND As it's Brotha Fikwot FX812PRO.....
