These evl 15s can only take abt 40% before clip!!! Love it though. Need all power upgrade of course. Never felt get hot..warm at best.lobe that

Hifonics is the power sound brand of Maxxsonics that is headquartered in Libertyville, IL in suburban Chicago. The company was founded by the late Helmut Stieglitz on a shoestring budget in 1980.This is a brand-new speaker to the marketplace, so there are no — zero — reviews on it. I performed a cursory bench test on it, and it certainly sounds better than the $250 price. I won't know how much better until it's installed and used for a while. I suggest waiting until there are some expert reviews available before buying, though.I was impressed by the compact size that can fit almost anywhere. The installation instructions are brief but include everything you need to know, including the best connections (4 ohms) to not recommended (1 ohm).Made in China but with a 1-year US warranty, unlike many Chinese brands selling on Amazon.The price is average. Big Box retail has it for the same price (and perhaps can install it) although I found one potentially dodgy mail-order site selling for about $20 less.My rating system:5 Stars = Knocks it out of the park. I first heard Hifonics amps back in the 80s when I was doing sound off competitions. I didn't use them at the time, I used precision power and sound stream amps in my cars back then. I've been out of that scene for quite some time but I saw this Hifonics amp pop up so I jumped on it. I replaced an older Rockford punch amplifier that was a pretty large amp with built-in fans. This amp is smaller since it is a class D digital amp and even though it has a built in fan, it runs much cooler than the Rockford amp it replaced. It also puts out more power from a much smaller chassis so I was able to add in an Epicenter that I'd had hanging around in the closet for a while. The amp has no problem handling 2 12" JL subs , I have it bridged and running each sub at 4 ohms and it easily overpowers the JLs.
