WOK HEI...Great Product, perhaps even better Support !!
Wow, just Wow !! This is the biggest upgrade in Chinese cooking with electricity in my experience. WOK HEI (the breath of the Wok) easily achieved. Veggies quickly charred w/o 'mushing' them up with that special flavor of char. Season the Wok pan properly and it acts as a stick-free surface making it magically easy to turn foods to expose all to the heat at the base. I have yet to try the full 575 degrees, but have no doubt it can. Heat is very rapid, easy to change temps on the fly. Even deep fat frying, the oil quickly recovers when food is added. NOW, I had a little manufacturing issue with the original pan and even though I could still use the Wok I reached out to Nuwave. Holy Smokes, I was blessed to reach Perla.s as my contact!! She stayed on top of my concern and guided me through steps to confirm the situation (via pics/vid) and came right back with...."we will gladly replace the entire unit"....and the new one was here in three days! I have owned Nuwave PICs for 10+ years and have always been satisfied with them, but this was waay 'over the top' excellent customer service and product support. Thanks Perla.s

"Exceeds Expectations"
In an age of cheap throw-away crap, it is rare to find an item that warrants an "Exceeds Expectations" rating. But this Induction Wok certainly does! I use it at least once per week, and everything I have tried with it has come out terrific. It is not as easy to clean as, say, a Teflon skillet, but the quality of food it produces makes that extra scrub-work it takes to keep it ready as a very small price to pay for such a top notch cooking and then eating experience. As advertised, there is practically NO time needed to warm up to cooking temperature. Just make your temp and time selections, and BOOM it seems ready to go to work right that second, practically. If the price puts you off, make the leap anyway. Splurge on yourself in order to get a true quality item. Don't cheap out on this one. I don't think that you will regret the purchase.

Three years in - it is the best kitchen appliance I have ever bought
I bought this wok three years ago and we use it multiple times a week, so this review is after around 350+ uses. It works perfect. I followed the instructions, seasoned the wok, use wood and steel utensils, and it is a work horse. Once you get used to induction heat control, you can really take control of your cooking. My favorite is to add steamed ramen, garlic, onion, protein, avacado oil and a quick stir fry. It's better than anything you can order out. Highly recommended!

Works great. The included Wok is fantastic.
It’s a lot of fun and works well after two years of use. I like the precision temperatures and I like how it heats up fast The Included Wok is awesome. It Really is naturally nonstick. For someone who is used to cooking on a flat bottom walk designed for standard cooktops, using a real wok with a curved surface is great. I haven’t done any wok hei . I can see that it can. The little front panel came unglued and then I lost it. I’ve also managed to lose the lid, which was very nice. Other lids work.

Wonderful Wok!! It has Taken Over My Kitchen!!! MUWHAHAHAHHAH~!~~!!!@@!!!!!
I have Wanted/Needed a wok ever since I was little and had Chinese Stir-fry for the first time and then learned how it was prepared... Induction cooking was invented by Frigidaire in 1933 and the first induction cooktop was made by Westinghouse in 1971, Kenmore made a number of stoves in the mid 80's and there were a also several companies making European models up until more recently, and then NuWave brought it to the masses with portable units in 1993. This wonder-wok heats so very quickly and I love the wide range of temp control. Seasoning the pan was a breeze, and cleanup is super easy (You TOTALLY need a classic bamboo wok brush). My stove is an under-sized almost RV stove after they remodeled everyone's apartments, so I appreciate the idea to put a pan under the wok.. The fellow did it for other reasons, but it does indeed add stability I've steamed with it, made stir-fry, and fried tempura with it now. I've never had anything heat the oil so fast, let alone be totally stable with temps.. Oh!!! and It's amazing how fast it stops cooking when you press pause or turn it off.. Thank You Nikola Tesla for all your wonderful inventions that have given us all so very much.. Right down to this amazing wok.. This thing took a bit of getting used to since I've never used induction before, but I swear by it now. I love the fact it uses a NORMAL pan instead of specialty cookware like the old days when induction was new, and the cookware was truly cost prohibitive. Thank You NuWave!!! I LOVIT!! Namaste...

Fire Hazard!!!
We just received this wok and decided to give it an initial test run. I used to cook in woks over high BTU flames on my gas cooktop, then I moved houses to one that is all electric. I sorely missed wok cooking and the excellent flavors and texture it provides. This wok looked to be the best chance of giving that excellent heat (575F for this wok) required for searing meats and keeping vegetables crisp but cooked. I wasn't sure if 575F would be hot enough but at least is had a chance. Induction cooking can definitely do it. I decided to run the wok up to 575F for its first run to see if I really could achieve that extreme heat. Honestly, I was a bit nervous; the base is pretty much all plastic, but Nuwave makes the claim, so it should work and be SAFE as they make very clear on their product description (auto-shutoff). I also made sure I had my overhead vent above the wok and the vent fan was set to its highest setting. As the wok heated up, it changed colors as expected and smoked a bit burning off some of the manufacturing residue. It was looking quite good and the overhead vent was pulling the heat out. I was feeling excited at the prospect of being able to use a wok again. But, then... I'm not sure the temperature the wok had reach, but I started to see smoke again. This time it was much more smoke and it was coming from the base! It was smoking a LOT and the unit display went completely blank (and never recovered). I became extremely concerned about a fire, though no flames were yet seen, however the fans in the base of the unit were no longer running. So, I had a very hot wok on an overheated, smoking base with no base ventilation (no fans). My concern was a house fire at this point. I quickly removed the wok and set it aside. Then I took the base outside before anything became worse. Outside temp was 45F. The base continue to smoke for about 15 minutes to a half hour. As the unit cooled down, the base began to crack severely. This was an extremely dangerous situation and I'm very glad everyone in the house is safe. Other 1-star reviews mention this fact of units burning out and also cracking. You are playing Russian-roulette with this device. No wok is worth a house fire. This became a very scary situation in a very quick span of time. Now, we are dealing with toxic plastic burn-off. The house is completely open and we are "freezing" trying to air out the house for several hours. Don't endanger your family with this device. My advice, don't risk it. Electronics and PLASTICS are difficult to keep cool when so close to a 575F metal wok. So, sad. I was hoping to experience the joy of cooking in a wok again.

Missing Items but GREAT customer service
This product is fantastic. The full bundle is very well worth the price! The wok is great quality as well. Make sure you follow the instructions for seasoning and preparing steamer as well! I had a slight issue with the tongs and wok stand missing from the box, but I was able to connect with Perla S. From customer service and she did such a fantastic job job assisting me and getting my missing items to me quickly! She was flexible, so communicative, and even followed up after the items arrived. This company has wonderful customer service and I am thankful!

I really wanted to love this Wok
This was my first time purchasing and using a wok, and I waited about four months before writing this review, hoping I’d become more comfortable cooking with it. I’ve used it three to four times a week since buying it, but I’m still facing a few issues that make the experience frustrating. First, the temperature displayed on the wok almost never matches the actual heat of the cooking surface. When the unit first turns on, it quickly heats the central ring of the pan to well over 600ºF, which is great for starting to cook right away.My usual process is to preheat at the default setting of 375ºF for 4–5 minutes so that adding oil doesn’t cause immediate smoking. However, the problems start after I add ingredients. If I place meat or vegetables in the center of the pan, they’ll sizzle briefly but then stop cooking, almost as if the heat vanishes. I’m not sure if this is due to a poorly placed temperature sensor or a faulty unit, but this lull in cooking can last up to two minutes. To compensate, I have to crank the heat up to over 500ºF before things start sizzling again. This approach often leads to overheating the pan and burning the oil. The same issue occurs when I add sauces at the end. Even if the wok is holding at around 400ºF, adding sauce causes the cooking to come to a standstill. Once again, I have to push the heat to the maximum 575ºF to get it going. This isn’t ideal and makes it hard to fine-tune my cooking process. I plan to keep using this wok until a better option comes along that addresses these temperature control problems. Despite its quirks, I’ve grown fond of making stir-fries at home because they’re flexible, healthy, and this wok does produce a great char on veggies and meats. It’s just disappointing that the temperature control isn’t more accurate, especially since my Nuwave induction burner maintains a consistent temperature within about 20ºF, regardless of the pan I use. Still, if you’re interested in making stir-fry at home, I’d recommend this wok. It’s a solid addition to my kitchen—just be aware that the temperature readings aren’t as reliable as you might hope.
