Supernanny - Thas book is a must if you have toddlers and Small children .its a great book that you can pick up at any time and dip in and out anytime your having issues . It has some great easy to follow tips and advice on a whole range of every day issues to help make family life that little bit easier . I would totally recommend it for anyone who look after children - mum , dad , Nan or grandad . Or anyone else with children . It's been a godsend with my children .

Goof

I chose this book as my 1 year old was already showing signs of independence and was having a few tantrums along the way. I already had the Super Nanny Baby book and found that very useful, so was looking for a book that would show the next developmental changes the children go through as well as some advice on how to head off bad behaviour and neutralise it before things really got bad. There is the obvious inclusion of the Naughty step technique- not for use with small children like mine, but this book is not just about that- she has also included some great distraction and involvement techniques which, from first hand experience I can tell you, work a treat even at this age. I also tried the "ignoring the tantrum" and that worked great too as he was no longer getting the audience he wanted. The main thing she tries to get over is that showing a good parental example and taking time to be with and enjoy your children for who they are is the key to understanding them and guiding them through the tricky phases they will have to go through. The focus is on firm but fair - routines and simple structures that give children a sense of security so they are not having to test to find the limits all the time. Overall worth a look - I would have given a 5 but I found I had to read the whole thing rather than jump to and from chapters relevant to your child's age as she indicates you can do.

I have triplets,two boys and a girl.I was thinking if there is a time you need to be up on positive parenting techniques in favour of taking your children to the shop to smack them then shout at them for crying lol bizzarre.Well it was as good as I hoped, and found it a good book to look things up as they come along in place of reading from cover to cover.

I bought this book for my daughter to help her with my grandson's behaviour. Don't buy this unless you need it for under 3s as it's aimed for young children!!

Wasn't convinced this would work for us as we had a nightmare toddler who we had to sit with to get to sleep, and he would wake numerous times in the night and we'd have to sit again for up to 2 hours til he slept. Now he goes to sleep alone after a short bedtime routine, stays there most of the time until morning. He occasionally wakes in the night but just has to be walked back to bed and left alone again. It has saved my sanity!!

I bought it for my friend as a gift for Xmas. She was delighted and found it very useful and learned a few tricks of how to deal with her toddler. All in all, I was pleased with the service and my friend was pleased with the book. Thank you Amazon!

I like super nanny and this is a nice book and an easy read. It looks nice, it's NOT hundreds of pages of dense writing in a tiny font, it looks inviting even when you are collapsing on the sofa in the evening after your toddler is in bed. I like her common sense, and it is useful to read this book as it will make you reflect on your child and your parenting, which is always very very good to do. Don't expect this book alone(or ANY other book on the subject, for that matter!) to sort out your kids and family. However I do recommend it because sometimes when you are a parent you can loose self confidence in difficult times...and then it's when you need an outsider to remind you about what common sense suggests.

I have never seen the supernanny show but I had heard of it. I bought this book in desperation one day when I was feeling that I had lost control of my 2 year old son, mostly because it had such good reviews. Now, I am a parent who is very skeptical when it comes to modern parenting books and I am usually displeased with the methods presented by most. I was pleasantly surprised, though, to find that this book espouses my discipline style quite well and while I was already using some of her techniques, I was able to pick up some really good tips from this book. It presents very clear discipline strategies that are not only simple, but also work. The writing is very clear, understandable and engaging. She specifically addressed all of the issues that I was facing with my son and presented practical advice for how to deal with those issues (mostly getting out of bed at night and not following directions). I started implementing some of her tips immediately and the change in how my son responded was amazing. I definitely feel more in control of certain situations now and I am much more effective in disciplining my son. I am ready now to read it again just to pick up on the bits of advice that I missed the first time through! I would recommend this book to any parent of a young child who is interested in teaching them proper behavior.
