Very Effective for Restoring Clear Plastics, But Requires Effort
What Works Really Well Restores Clarity This polish is designed to restore optical clarity to both rigid and flexible clear plastics. Meguiar’s says it removes cloudiness, fine scratches, oxidation, and chemical haze. Meguiar's +2 Meguiar's Latvia +2 Long‑Lasting Protection It contains water‑resistant polymers that help protect the plastic after polishing. Meguiar's Latvia Safe Formula According to Meguiar’s technical sheet, the product doesn’t use harsh solvents and is non-toxic. Meguiar's Latvia Versatile Use Works on many clear plastic surfaces: headlights, convertible windows, Plexiglass, motorcycle windshields, and more. limora.com User Feedback — Very Positive Many users say it brought their cloudy or yellowed headlight lenses back to a clear, “like-new” state. eBay On detailed parts like gauge clusters or smaller clear plastics, people note that with enough polish and elbow grease, it really works. opentip.com Things to Be Careful About / Potential Drawbacks Requires Effort: Because it’s a “cutting” polish (uses microscopic abrasives), you’ll need to rub it well. Applying by hand is fine, but some users say it takes time or even a drill or polishing pad to get the best results. AisleGopher +1 Not Magic on Severe Damage: On very deep scratches or heavy oxidation, it may not fully restore the plastic. Some detailers suggest sanding first before using PlastX for the best outcome. Reddit Temporary Results Without Protection: Several users note that polished plastic (like headlights) can haze again over time if not sealed or coated after polishing. Reddit Application Sensitivity: On some plastics, if not applied and removed correctly, it may leave residue or “streaks.” Reddit Best For Car owners who want to restore foggy or oxidized headlight lenses without replacing them. Motorcyclists or boat owners with clear plastic windscreens or windows. Anyone with scratched or dull plastic parts (like gauge clusters, clear trim) who wants to bring back clarity. Bottom Line: Meguiar’s PlastX is a very capable and trusted plastic polish. It’s especially strong for headlight restoration or any clear plastic that’s lost its transparency. It’s not “set it and forget it” — you’ll need to apply it well, but when done right, the results are very satisfying. For long-lasting clarity, consider following up with a sealant or UV protective coating.

Restore factory fresh headlight clarity
Bought this with a sanding kit after watching videos saying both work well. Sanded one light and polished at end. Decided to forgo sanding on second headlight, took care of heavily yellowed plastic and looked better than sanded headlight. Well worth the money. Also great to polish watches.

Good for sunglasses
This is pretty good stuff. Don't expect it to work miracles and you'll be pleased with the results. This was recommended to use on a pair of sunglasses which is maybe not what others are here to purchase it for lol, but I hope this helps someone out there! I got this pair of Tom Ford sunglasses for $24 knowing they needed repairs. When they arrived I saw they were in pretty bad shape with all of the scratches and fading on the frames, much worse than I had anticipated. I wish I had taken an actual before photo. The first photo in my pics is actually a little after I had already started using this product. There were so many scratches on the frames, including a major one down the bridge that you can see in the photos. So that was my frame of reference for how well this product was working. I probably spent about 8-10 minutes rubbing this in gently with a chamois cloth. You can see it removed some of the micro scratches and smoothed the surface pretty well. It didn't completely get rid of the major scratch but it is a lot less noticeable. Maybe if I had kept going it would have reduced it a little more but I didn't care that much to keep going. I cleaned the frames after application and then applied a couple drops of baby oil which also helped reduce the appearance of the remaining scratches and restored the gloss. You can also use mineral oil. These look pretty good again for $24! I used such a tiny amount of this product but already used it for an art project and have plenty of other plastic things I plan to restore so it's well worth the investment.

Good stuff for headlights or acrylics. use with a drill polisher kit or your arms will be sore
Great for final buffing headlights via drill after wet sanding them with 2500 grit.

Good stuff
I drive about 1500 miles per month, so I buff out my headlights (and spray them with Meguiars headlight sealant) a minimum of once a year (usually twice a year) and this stuff works great. The healdight spray sealant is also great stuff. Follow the instructions. Don't use in cold weathter.

Average performance but good on headlights.
Average, says "do not use on coated plastic" on the bottle. Did not do a good job on my cars black plastic trim. Headlights ok though.

Great headlight cleaner
My headlights were very yellow and fogged up. I applied it 3 times and now very clear.
