Great pen for line drawing prior to adding watercolour. Difficult to start ink flow, PATIENCE! Eventually the ink came through. Press the cartridge into the nib part inside the pen. Hold pen vertically, start writing and the ink starts.

writes better than my TWSBI GO, a pen almost 5x the price.

The pen is the bic of fountain pens. Use it for everyday use and you'll be fine. Writes smoothly however, I'm not a black fountain ink fan. It's a workhorse pen. Worth a try for sure.

Purchased because it got very good reviews online, for drawing and sketching with the appropriate ink.I haven't used it yet, but look forward to using it.Good value for money.

Love my Preppy pen! I am newer to fountain pens and wasn’t sure what traits I like in a pen. Who wants to risk dropping a lot of money on a pen to find out it’s scratchier than they like, or the ink bleeds in your favorite sketchbook? I’ve loved Pilot rollerballs for my whole life. The Preppy is a solid stepping stone pen with a deep black ink that is good for writing or linework. Great for beginners and respectable enough for intermediate pen enthusiasts.

Had been using this pen since January 2023 (it's now October 2023) and it's become my favorite fountain pen. It never dries out, it's lightweight, also it's affordably priced too. The nib i feel is very smooth, and dispenses a lot of ink when in use. I also purchased this in a medium nib and use them both regularly.For those curious about fountain pens, this is the one I would recommend without hesitation.
