PS5 Pro – Worth Every Penny!
I’ll be honest, I was on the fence about spending £700 on the PS5 Pro, but now that I’ve made the upgrade, I can confidently say it was absolutely worth it. All of my reservations have been completely alleviated, and I’m blown away by the improvements over the standard PS5. First and foremost, the performance is phenomenal. The increased processing power means faster load times, smoother gameplay, and a noticeable boost in graphics quality. Games that looked great before now look absolutely stunning on the PS5 Pro. I’m talking about richer details, sharper textures, and better lighting effects that really immerse you in the experience. The upscaled 4K visuals are a game-changer, and I’ve noticed a major improvement in frame rates. Whether I’m playing fast-paced action games or open-world adventures, the PS5 Pro handles everything flawlessly. The new ray tracing enhancements add another level of realism that I didn’t even realize I was missing before. The upgraded cooling system is another standout feature. The console runs quieter and stays cooler, even when I’m gaming for extended hours. No more worrying about the system getting too hot or loud during intense gaming sessions. The design is sleek and modern, and the console feels incredibly sturdy. It fits seamlessly into my entertainment setup, and I love the subtle but noticeable differences in build quality that the Pro offers over the standard model. One of the biggest surprises for me was how future-proof the PS5 Pro feels. With the increased hardware capabilities, I know I’m set for the next few years of gaming without worrying about performance issues. It’s a solid investment that will keep delivering top-tier gaming experiences as new titles release. All in all, I’m incredibly satisfied with my purchase. The PS5 Pro has exceeded my expectations in every way, and I’m thrilled I decided to make the upgrade. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it—you won’t regret it.

The OG of consoles 💪
The PS5 Pro is an absolute powerhouse. The performance jump is instantly noticeable — games load lightning fast, visuals are sharper, and frame rates are buttery smooth, especially in performance mode. The console runs quieter than expected and looks sleek next to the standard PS5. Paired with a 4K TV, it’s a truly immersive experience that feels next-gen in every way. Sony has really refined this upgrade; it’s worth every penny for gamers who want the best visuals and speed available.

Beast of a thing
The PS5 Pro is an excellent console for dedicated gamers who want the best possible performance on a console. It features a significantly more powerful GPU that delivers a smoother experience with higher resolutions and better ray-tracing in optimized games. The included 2TB SSD and Wi-Fi 7 are also welcome upgrades. However, the high price tag, the lack of a built-in disc drive (which must be purchased separately), and the fact that not all games fully utilize its power may make it a less compelling purchase for casual players. If you're a performance enthusiast, the PS5 Pro is the best console on the market, but for most people, the standard PS5 remains a fantastic and more affordable option.

Excellent on my 8K Samsung TV
The PlayStation 5 Pro is an impressive upgrade for gamers looking to push visual quality and immersion to new heights. Designed for upto 8K TVs, the PS5 Pro's hardware enhancements allow for a higher graphical fidelity with options for 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz, delivering stunning visuals that truly stand out on compatible displays. A standout feature is its improved ray tracing capabilities, which enable realistic lighting and reflections across several games. This enhancement brings added depth and realism to scenes, especially in games like Spider-Man 2 and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, where the visuals now appear sharper and smoother. The new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) technology also supports upscaling, giving even 4K displays an extra visual boost by delivering crisper textures without overburdening the GPU. In addition to visuals, the PS5 Pro performs impressively in terms of heat management and Wi-Fi 7 support. It runs quieter and cooler than previous models, even after extended gaming sessions, which is a notable upgrade over the original PS5. The added Wi-Fi 7 capability boosts download speeds significantly for those with compatible routers, providing faster connectivity and smoother online gameplay. Overall, the PS5 Pro offers substantial improvements for visual immersion and performance, making it a great choice for tech enthusiasts looking to maximize their gaming setup, especially on 8K TVs. However, its high price may be a factor for some, given that the original PS5 already delivers impressive quality.

A true PS5 pro review.
Where do i start.....1st the bad.. it is clearly not worth the £700 price tag, i don't care what anyone says! There is no justification apart from Sonys cash grab tactics and customers saying we'll i can afford to pay it so I will! Then there's the fact there's no drive, what a mistake by Sony, I know every gaming company wants digital only games and this maybe sooo but they are short sighted and brain washed, they clearly can't see what a bad idea this will be for the future of gaming! Look at Netflix and all the other film subscription channels and imagine that but with games....more dictatorship and price hikes! Now the good stuff.....the image quality of this machine is superb, Xbox Series X eat your heart out, the extra power really shows up and delivers....should have been native 4k minimum for every game but hey its an improvement and an extra 1tb too. Oh and another downer is the PS4 turbo hairdrying sound is back.....come on Sony WTH! I paid £580.00 (Amazon warehouse) and thought that was worth it but I certainly wouldn't pay £700 not enough of a leap to warrant it!

Great upgrade for gaming / tech enthusiasts
As a long time gamer (console, handeld and PC) who has tried to keep up with the latest and greatest over the years I was in a position where I was finally able to upgrade my PS5 to the PS5 Pro My personal preference in gaming is the best framerates, I don't care much for 4k. I would much prefer 60fps at 1080p over 30fps at 4k. However the console gaming market seems to prioritise 4k 30fps and performance modes in a lot of games struggle to hit 60fps on my regular PS5 I went into this purchase with optimism hoping to see the reward of the costs, and I am pleased to say that I am impressed with the results. I've played Final Fantasy 7 rebirth on both consoles and on PS5 Pro it looks like a completely different game I can play at 60fps and the game looks as you would expect (on ps5 the resolution would be so low that objects and characters would be blurry) Other major games I've played in the short time since purchase are Borderlands 4 and Ghost of Yotei. Borderlands has looked amazing the whole time crisp 60fps even during hectic combat in the massive open world. Ghost of Yotei is a real testament to what the ps5 pro can do, the performance pro setting exclusive to ps5 pro is a buttery smooth 60fps with ray tracing lighting enable for an ultra realistic experience as you explore the world and it sets a high bar for other ps5 pro games to come The 2TB storage is a welcome addition too I can have more games installed without worry of having to make space Overall the upgrade for a dedicated gamer is worth it, it could have been nice to include the 4k disc drive but I did purchase it as I still have physical media If you are a casual gamer or not too fussed about getting the absolute best performance and happy with "good enough" then the standard ps5 is probably better for you
