Extremely weak "Velcro"
I have purchased two of these backings pads over the past couple of years. Within a very short time the "Velcro" becomes so weak as to be ineffective at holding onto sanding discs. I am greatly surprised the Makita would produce such an item, given their normally high manufacturing standard. I have carefully removed the Makita Velcro layer and replace it with a self adhesive Velcro (also purchased on Amazon). The original conversion finally gave way after I had sanded the walls, ceilings and doors of 6 rooms. Sadly, I would recommend that any potential purchaser seek out an alternative...

Disappointed
Very poor quality, bought in May and came apart after being used no more than a dozen times. The original pad lasted four years.

Nice Kit but Expensive!!!
The sander itself is great but these discs are ridiculously expensive for what they are.. Be careful not to over do it with these as they very easily melt and disintegrate. If you are doing a lot of hard sanding work have a look for the HARD version of this disc which is supposed to last a bit longer.

Lasted less than a week...
This product is terrible. The hook and loop Velcro has already begun to peel off from the foam after a few days of use. Very dissapointed 😔

Can't believe this is a Makita OEM product, lasted about 4 hours of use and then blew apart, total waste of money.
