This was a missed opportunity. The idea of a model internal combustion engine that could be disassembled using a selection of spanners and screwdrivers was very appealing but this was disappointing.The first screw my grandson removed held nothing on. It passed through the pulley wheel that connects to the handle via an elastic band belt drive. It this band gets pulled and snapped it is impossible to repair for a child as it needs two small Philips screws removing by an adult.The pistons exit the top of the cylinders so there is no cylinder head for pretend compression to take place under. You spend all your time explaining how this engine couldn’t work not how a real one does. There is a selection of spanners and sockets but none fit the spark plug. They are all the same size and just fit the bolts. When unbolted the sides of the engine are difficult for a five year old to grip and remove. Likewise the con-rods are hard to remove from the crank shaft as two small tabs have to be pushed in as the items are parted.

Fantastic, teaching my 2yr old about engines. Now says Pistons, Spark Plugs, HT Leads etc etc. We've lost a few of the screws but it all still works. Been thrown, dropped played with loads and its still brilliant and working.

Really lovely little toy. My son would love it. Great value for money. Would buy again.

My nephew lived this and he's 3. Only negative is the elastic band was very weak. Would still buy again.
