Cargo 6004 QuikSteel Steel Reinforced Epoxy Putty Counter Box - 4 oz.

This stuff is awesome. I used it to fill a dent in my bicycle frame. It was easy to mold to the correct shape, sand and paint. It has been holding strong ever sense.

My first time of using this product was back in 2003, the cargo carriers at my work would sometimes get holes punched into them by the forklift we used to transport them, because of combustibles stored inside the carriers we weren't allow to weld on them, we would use this to fix the holes, They all passed DOT inspection! I have recently used this product on my motorcycle frame to fix some holes that were made from grinding ( fabrication ), and it still works great! I found that cutting small pieces ( about 1 inch long ) work the best, this method allows for kneading the putty easier and the application faster, also use primer before painting ( it will absorb the primer not the paint which will prevent bleeding through ). The delivery was fast on this too, I have never used JB Weld but, this stuff is the best as far as I'm concerned and reasonably priced! If you have a lot to do, order 2 instead 1, that way you won't run out! Amazing Product!

I've only used it once, but the cured product was very crumbly and not at all strong. Was this an old product? What is the shelf life?

I mistrust things like this for serious adhesives, but for the job I needed, this suited perfectly! I have a pyrex pipe I wanted to convert into an oil burning pipe and needed a heat resistant hardening adhesive putty to push into the bowl. (it's very difficult to buy an actual oil burning pipe because of the fear of illegal drug usage in the world today) I then needed to build a removable yet stable formation that can clog the carb at will. This product worked brilliantly and I achieved exactly what I needed! Yet it's functional and interesting looking.

Works good but needs quite a lot to hold things together

This epoxy putty is magical stuff. I used it to repair some rust holes on an old car. It is easy to apply and makes a rock hard repair. Highly recommended.Make sure you use gloves or it will fill your fingerprints for a week or so. Don't ask me how I know that!

A great product.Not for automotive use exclusively !I use it for fixing missing parts on household objects,like paintings frames,reinforcing ceramic vases,or similar.Can be drilled ,sanded ,painted.The only minus is that,if not used within a few months,after opening,it slowly hardens to the point that it can not be used anymore,but I guess that's why it comes in small quantities.I would buy it again ,and again !

Works well

I used Quiksteel epoxy putty to fix a patio table which was rusty an holey round the framework. It was a great product
