Works on my Deck Railing
The media could not be loaded. I live in a townhome where my deck is adjacent to neighbor decks on both sides. Without precautions, it's possible for my cats to jump from my deck railing to the decks on either side. I installed 3 sections of this product across the top of the railing on each end. So far it's stopped my cats from making unwelcome visits to the neighbors. The railings are 2x6 lumber, so this product is the perfect width. I was able to strap them on with 30" zip ties, no muss, no fuss, and no damage to the railing. See the video for details. The zip ties are mostly hidden between the balusters on the street side, making them less noticeable on that side. Narrower zip ties would be completely adequate, but I could find none in the correct length. If the plastic endures the sun for a season, I may replace the zip ties with long screws and big washers. There are square sections in the plastic that look ideal for this.I am a little concerned that the plastic will hold up to the summer sun. The plastic is quite stiff, but not that strong. Rough handling would quickly damage it. Time will tell how long it lasts. Even if I have to replace it every year, it takes only a few minutes to install, and costs about $30 total.

Great Product
I had dogs and cats coming into my yard and drop their thing in my yard. The cats also slept by my front and back doors and in my garage. I tried all different things but did not work because the dogs and cats just move a little and did their thing. I saw your product and tried it. It Worked!!!!! The animals do not come in my yard (in put the mats at the beginning of my yard three mats deep) and as far as I know they do not come by my house doors and garage.I had birds do their thing at a certain part of my car so I put the mat there and now = no birds - ha, ha, ha. My neighbor saw the results and bought your mats also

Great for any cat that isn't mine
Ok. So they don't exactly work for my cat. So why 5 stars? Because I can see why they would work with any other cat. Just not my cat. I put them on the stairs to keep her from going up there and pulling her bullsh*t sneak attacks on my nice sweet cat. The mats did a great job of stabbing me in the foot as I tried to gingerly balance on the edges of the stairs and go past them. I showed them to her and smugly told her "your days of going upstairs are over!!" My evil cat though, she just looked at them and I saw the "challenge accepted" on her face.I found her upstairs an hour later. The mats were not moved. 😒I moved the mats to the top of the stair railing she jumps over to get up there (theres a baby gate). I then told her with high confidence...nay arrogance, "go ahead, jump up here now. You're gonna get stabbed on your feet and regret that sh*t. You won't be doing this anymore. "I found the mats on the floor and the cat upstairs that afternoon when I got home from work. 😒But, if you need to stop normal cats. Cats that don't feel the need to do crap just to do it or to prove themselves superior to you, they would work just fine.

Squirrels love them
I don’t know how it works on cats but the squirrels and raccoons love it. They brazenly sit on it without a care. Not worth it.

doesn’t work if your cat is smart
We have an 8 month old kitten who has gotten into her mischievous stage and she also tries to eat everything. So, we bought these to keep her off the kitchen counters, esp because we can’t always put everything away and we don’t want her going near the hot stove or sharp utensils.Unfortunately she has figured out she can stretch up to the counter and pull them off with her mouth. Then they fall on the ground and pieces break off and it becomes a hazard because she tries to eat or chew the pieces. So unless you have a way of securing them, or have a cat that isn’t very smart, these will likely not work very well.We kept the non broken ones, hopefully we can use them for another purpose later.

Cat meets the spiral of pain
My two cats own every seat in the house, the beds, the dining room chairs, plus their own cat condos which take up most of the game room. The cutting board should be mine. My one place where I can make a sandwich without cat hair in it. Leave a cup of water for 5 minutes without it getting dumped on the floor. But boy cat decided the cutting board was his new lounge spot and nothing on the table was safe. Boy cat is also oblivious to smells, sounds, and bribery. These spike mats are cheap, but they are effective. I made this thing, set it up there, and boy is not pleased. I didn't want him to accidentally step on the mat, although I doubt any real injury would result, he's old, and holds a grudge and wees in shoes, so this is enough to let him know he needs to move on. Is it worth the money? Have you eaten cat hair? How much would you pay not to do that? After boy gets the hint, I may move them outside where some copperhead snakes are enjoying our pond. Good alternative to "snake fencing" that can pose risk to wildlife.
