Easy as 1-2-3.
I live in Southern Maryland, and although we don't have lots of snakes, we do have some. June seems to be snake month when you see more activity from black snakes, copperheads, and a few others. Last week, in three days I saw three snakes in my back yard patio. two were what I consider big, and one small. Not all on the same day. I have pests, and of course my wife and I. I purchased this products and well so far, no snakes. It is easy to use, based on the instructions and information on the bottle, it is pet safe and people safe. It does say not to put in around any garden where you intend to plant veggies, etc. So, easy to put on, I just made a perimeter around the yard, around the edges of the patio, and around the doors. It has been 6 days now, I have not seen any snakes. Although 6 days is not a long time, I feel a bit more at ease that I have taken the first step to protect my property and family. Also, no smell, no mess. I will write other review in about 30 days to let you know if any snakes have appeared again.

This product saved me!
Saw a nightmarishly huge black racer snake hanging around in bush just outside our caged lanai for a couple of days. April in FL/not unusual to see them as soon as weather gets warm. But... Never had one "hang out". Usually you just catch glimpse of one passing through the backyard on rare occasions. Then to our horror, one day we saw him go up under our house (which the bush he liked visit was next to). No idea what was up under the house (I've never looked before), but sure as heck wasn't going to look now!Was in a total panic. Immediately googled for "snake killer" and didn't realize there wasn't such a thing (other than a sharp hoe and a lot of guts!).So... The other options are : They have some sort of metal trap (but they looked complicated). Then they have jumbo sized sticky traps (but you might catch other things you don't intend on catching, like birds or rodents or some creature of the night that you never want to meet up with with!). Plus... What will I do with a huge snake (or anything else for that matter) stuck on a huge sticky trap!?! Didn't want to think about it.Then...discovered "snake repellent". At this point my acid reflux was in full gear so I figured I'd try repellent. If this didn't work... Would have to call a professional.Long story longer...Purchased this product and sprinkled a generous amount around the area.Since I couldn't sit watching for him to come out from under house all day, I used an old cellphone gathering dust and downloaded the"Alfred Camera" app to monitor & record any activity. Alfred Camera no longer free to use... but in an emergency such as this, I was willing to pay the small monthly fee so I could monitor (and cancel later when snake crisis was over).Snake came out from under house an hour later after application (I'm watching the video rewind of this via Alfred App freaking out and popping Gaviscon like candy). He came out, sniffed around the ground and air... And then sped off like lightning into the neighbors yard! Didn't hang out in bush nor return to try to go back up under house (per monitoring for 2 additional days using Alfred Cam).Felt reasonably safe enough to go outside and investigate under the house after 2 days of "all clear" video monitoring. No way was I going to stick my face to the ground and peer up under there though! Used the old cellphone (while still using Alfred App) to provide live feed of what was under the house by placing the phone on end of a hoe... And slowly moved the hoe along the underside. Ended up being nothing under there thankfully! Just a ledge of concrete with nowhere else to go. Plugged up the area nonetheless.So... This saved product saved me!!!I don't know why it works well for some/not for others (per reviews). But all I can say is to give it a try.It says "no stink formula" since many snake repellents "stink" like sulfer/rotten eggs or worse I guess. This doesn't mean it's scent free though. This product DOES have scent. The scent is like strong flowers (gardenia maybe?). It's not bad... But quite noticeable.Product says it lasts 30 days when applied liberally, but may need to reapply if you get heavy rain. I'd reapply when the scent would wear off just to be safe. Depending on weather, that could be anywhere from a week to a month though.Best of luck!Update a year later (April 2025):This stuff worked the entire spring season when snakes were highly active outside. Never had an issue with snakes coming along our outdoor perimeter of lanai again. I don't need to use this all summer long... Just during spring due to high activity/mating season. Won't be without it now!! Spring is here and I just spotted a huge snake passing by in the backyard...so bought more of the product to start sprinkling this around outside.

It works!
I’m terrified of snakes!! There’s a wooded area behind my townhome where I think they’re coming from. Two have crawled up on my patio. Luckily, my little dog spotted one and alerted me.I searched for ways to keep them away and found this. I assume it’s working. I haven’t seen another one. I sprinkled it all around my patio and reapplied after rain.

Worked well. Sprinkled around our rocks that surround our waterfall. Didn’t see another black razor snake until this year so we applied it again and so far it disappeared!

Great for anyone afraid of snakes
I’m ABSOLUTELY afraid of snakes, we had a den under our shed, making it impossible for me to enter. These pellets drove them out, & kept them away!

Snake Candy Conundrum 🐍🍬
So, let me start by saying that the concept of Ortho Snake B Gon is brilliant! I mean, who wouldn't want to deter snakes from their garden without resorting to medieval snake charming techniques, right? But, let me tell you, my slithery friends didn't get the memo.I sprinkled these pellets around my garden like a wizard casting protective spells. I even imagined them hissing, "You shall not pass!" to any snake that dared to enter. But what happened next was like a reptilian comedy show. I found a snake in my garden, and I swear it was smirking.I suspect the snake mistook these pellets for some kind of gourmet snake snack. Maybe it thought, "Oh, look, breath mints!" Because not only did it not deter the crawly serpent, but it seemed like I had turned my garden into a snake buffet! So, instead of Snake B Gon, it became Snake B Yum. I half expected the snake to start rating my garden on a snake food review website. "Five stars! Best garden buffet in town!" 🌟🐍In conclusion, while Ortho Snake B Gon might not have scared off my garden's slippery visitors, it certainly provided them with an unintended feast. I'm considering hosting a snake-themed dinner party next. Who knew garden pests had such discerning taste buds? 😄🌿🐍
