Don't waste your money. I bought this lock with the express goal of allowing my kids to access the house using the fingerprint reader since they will invariably forget the code within 24 hours. Only you cant setup fingerprint access if they don't have an email address or phone number(something i refuse to give my young children!). Absolutely beautiful hardware but the software is FULL OF BUGS!! The setup of this lock was stupid simple! I installed two locks and a keypad in less then 30 minutes! After installation, you configure the locks and keypad through a straight forward wizard. Everything that followed has been a nightmare! After the installation is complete and I setup the keypad code and registered my fingerprint, I tried to register my wife and kids for access. The app does not allow you to register a user for fingerprint and keycode access for anyone other then the primary user. You have to send them an invite, have them download the application. Instead it asks them to connect with AirBNB or setup a new device. The lock they were sent the invite to doesnt show up. For my kids, there is no way I was going to create an email account or setup phone service at their ages! As a result, there is no way to register a fingerprint, you can only create a keycode for access. After 3 hours with tech support, I am pulling the boxes out of the trash and removing the hardware.

I am in a condo where I can't change the locks. The August lock is perfect. Easily fits existing locks, opens and locks manually and automatically well. Every so often the auto unlock on returning home fails to engage, but excellent product

Fingerprint reader is slow / inconsistent, the keypad works, but also feels less responsive than I'd hoped. It is easy to enter an incorrect code by mistake. The lock itself is fantastic. Batteries last about 6 weeks in my busy home with lots of people coming and going throughout the day

Quality, easy to set up, easy to use. It fit my 2023 airstream perfectly, Highly recommended.

I am very pleased with my Yale August digital locks that were easy to install. Battery life is better than expected after reading other user reviews. I also really like the Yale smartphone app (using an iphone 16) that makes it easy to add and remove guest codes as needed. This is a great product. Just be sure that the deadbolt lock you use it with is compatible (August has a list of locks that work with it on their website). Generally, most center keyed deadbolts work but those with offset keys (such as some Kwiksets) don’t. And remember to ensure that the deadbolt slides smoothly in and out of the strike plate. My installation required some adjustments but not much of a problem to overcome.

I bought this Yale/August Wi-Fi Smart Lock (4th Gen / SL05) with Keypad Touch on Amazon USA while traveling. I’m back in Mexico and I cannot activate it at all. • The August Home app shows “Setup Unavailable in Your Region” for new device setup outside the U.S./Canada. • The Yale Home app also won’t let me complete registration/activation (Mexico isn’t available / service not available). So even though it’s sold as a Wi-Fi smart lock, it becomes essentially unusable if you’re in Mexico. What’s frustrating is that there was no clear, visible warning about this region restriction on the listing/packaging. I paid a lot of money for 3 units and now I’m stuck with devices I can’t use and can’t easily return since I’m not in the U.S. anymore. If you live outside the U.S./Canada, confirm activation support for your country before buying.

This system is geo-locked to the north american market. The software works if you have a VPN, but you need to have a pre-existing August account for it to work. I've had to use my brother's old smart account to get it working. Once all that is worked around, it works fine, but you need a little technical expertise. So two conditions - one you need a working August account; two, you need to fool the software into thinking you are in the USA/Canada. If you can't do either of those, you've basically wasted your time and money.

This product is only compatible and supported in the norh American market. I dont know why they are selling it in Australi when it is not intended to work outside North America.
