The omniflex nib is very nice
The omniflex nib is very nice, it may not be the most flexible and the ink flow can be a bit short, but the writing for me is pleasant. I think it's a good pen for its price, the finish is good and it feels very nice in the hands.

Great value!
This really nice pen with an Omniflex nib was offered for the incredibly low price of $5.94. The nib is not as flexible as I had hoped for but it was a great opportunity to try the Omniflex nib. I'm very pleased with this pen and it also reverse writes nicely.

Great fountain pen
The quality and design of this pen feels like it should cost 5x what it does. The size feels great in your hand, and it comes with everything you need to get started. I've tried a veriety of different color inks and haven't found any problems with ink flow or drying out. I plan on buying a different color barrel when they're back in stock. This would make a great gift.

It won't write - Quality non-existent
Absolute junk. The cap wouldn't stay on within 2 weeks of delivery; the very thin threads appear to have stripped out and no amount of pipe tape will keep it on. The pen skips even though it was thoroughly cleaned in pen flush and rinsed multiple times along with taking out the nib and flossing it. The omniflex nib is a joke - with the slightest amount of pressure it will 'railroad' badly. Changing inks doesn't help. I should have known better from the other reviews, but... you get what you pay for!

Sexy pen. Skip the Omniflex nib. learn from my pain.
My only issue with the pen is the reason I got it. The Omniflex nib is awful. This is literally my first twp star review in a decade. The only way this pen works correctly is with the tines too open. There is railroading issues. After you do get it right, it leaves a very heavy band of ink. too much for my taste. The flex feature doesn't really work. It creates flow issues. These are all the negatives. on to the positives. The body is nice. It looks and feels good in the hand. The price was a steal and I am not bitter at the experiment. Comes with 2 cartridges and a Schmidt k5 style converter. Excellent deal. I frankenpenned this thing using a Chinese pen. I replaced the nib unit and the converter (basically kept the body). I expect it to become a fast favorite. Please skip the Omniflex nib. Its fristrating.

Excellent performance at an economic price point
I’m a retired calligrapher, with several Monteverde “Prima” Omni-flex fountain pens (which usually sell in the $35-$75 range(. So you can imagine I was amazed to find a Monteverde Omni-flex for under $10.00. Delivery was 3-4 weeks, but I was willing to wait. I didn’t want to buy up a storm of the “Strata” line until I knew their performance was good. So here’s scoop:- The pen is all metal (so it’s cold to the touch, if that matters). But the barrel screws into the feed section, and the cap screws into the barrel, for a leak-free connection.- The pen comes with two press-in ink cartridges and a press-in converter.- The converter is adequate—mine doesn’t leak and the push-fit is strong enough—but it holds less ink that the converters that come with the Prima line.- The ink that came with the cartridges is probably dye-based, not pigment based, because the pen writes “wet”. (I noticed a slight bleed around some letters written on cotton bond paper)- The clip is flexible enough to catch on your shirt pocket securely.- The Omni-flex nib appears to work as well as Monteverde’s higher-end nibs.- So my recommendation is to use this pen with a viscous pigment based ink on a linen fiber paper, and to buy Monteverde’s Model 31075-clear converter which holds more ink also.Note: If I can find a better ink, I will buy up a bunch of these pens to give as gifts because they do come in a gift box, and they display very well.
