GREAT OSTBA MEAT SLICER
This is a very nice meat slicer and we've used it several times since purchasing it. It slices very well. So far we've used it to slice bread and roast beef. It slices perfectly to whatever thickness you prefer. This machine is also very easy to clean, and small for easy storage. We're really glad we bought it.

This worked great to slice my roast and chicken. Very happy so far.

can only run for 5 minutes then needs 15 minute rest.
The most important thing to understand about this slicer is that you're not buying a professional-grade machine, so don’t expect pro-level performance. I bought it as a test run to see if I liked roasting my own meat and slicing it for sandwiches, and I chose this model because it was budget-friendly. For that purpose, it served its role. That said, I had realistic expectations, and even then, I ran into a few frustrations. I sliced about 6 pounds of medium-rare round roast, and it took 3 hours across two sessions (not including cleaning). The biggest issue? It can only run for 5 minutes at a time, and then you have to let it rest for 15 minutes. I likely missed that detail in the product listing, but it’s something buyers should be aware of, especially if you're planning to do any kind of batch prep.Another thing: while the slicer technically goes down to 0mm, it really struggles to produce ultra-thin slices, which is a letdown if, like me, you prefer paper-thin deli cuts. ON the thicker cuts, or when the depth measurement opened up a little from my pressure on the slicing plate, it cut really well.As for cleaning, it’s a pain. While the blade does come off (which helps), meat tends to get everywhere—under the depth adjustment, into the blade gears, all over. I’ve had to use toothpicks to clean it out completely. If you’re just making 1 or 2 sandwiches, it’s hardly worth the time and mess. To me, it only makes sense to slice a full batch and deal with cleaning once (or twice, in my case). In the end, I’m not disappointed because I went in knowing this was an entry-level machine. But I was let down by the runtime limits and the cleaning hassle. If I had to do it again, I’d go for something a step up from this—not full commercial grade, but definitely beyond this model.

Right size slicer
Runs a little slow, but cuts good and is the right size to fit in the lower cabinet

Good value for budget slicer.
Love cooking with this, sliced right through some summer sausage with very little force applied. Nice and thin slices for my sandwiches just want I wanted.

Cuts many different thicknesses, great price.
Bought as a Christmas present. Mother loves it.

Buyers be warned
I am surprised how clumsy this product is made. I tried cutting pork loin but the blade doesn't cut through cleanly, pulling the meat into the blade and ripping the meat in the process. The worst part is that this happens no matter how thin or thickness the setting. Cleaning is nearly impossible because only the blade comes off and other parts needs screwdrivers to deassemble. I'm getting rid of it after just using it once. Terribly dissappointed.
