I've always had issues with OBDII readers on my Mini since it seems that you need special readers for European made cars. This reader worked great and had no issues reading my Mini. I had a code flash while I was coming home one day and I was able to read it instantly with this reader. The great thing is that it will work with pretty much any car and I am able to use it on my other vehicles (1 Dodge, 1 Nissan) with great results as well. The reader itself is a fairly compact size and I leave it plugged in with no issues. The app on the phone works well and is mostly intuitive on how to navigate it. The registration process was a bit cumbersome for me, but once you are registered it works fine. Also note that the app registers the device to your account with the company and from that point on will only work with your account. You can use it on multiple cars, but only with your login. Another side effect of this is that since it is account based, I would be wary that it may not function if the company ever stops its service for some reason. I don't really have any proof of this, but I am always cautious with any device that ties its service to an online account.

quick code reader and how to fix....

We had one of these we loved that went through the wash in my husbands pocket so I wanted to get another one. This one has good features and was Android compatible. My husband reports that this was super simple to set up and use and he feels it was accurate. It's not cheap (currently about $70) but he says it's worth it.

I have always wanted one of these. It’s a pain having to go to the auto parts store and have them do it for you. This gives accurate readings and is easy to use. It’s good to know why lights are on on your dash. So you know how soon it needs taken in. You can only use this to reset a couple things though. This isn’t an all inclusive device. You somehow have to buy the option to be able to use it to reset all the lights. It should have said that up front. But otherwise good device to hand on hand.

We used this in our van to figure out why the engine light was on. Turned up a code that indicated a bad oxygen sensor. We took the van to our mechanic and he confirmed that was the issue. This thing is accurate and saved us money on a diagnostic report. If you have older cars that have a light on, this is a great tool for finding out what the light is telling you. I know you can usually go to an auto parts store and have them read it for you, but when you're on the road, and there's not a store around, this gives some peace of mind. We keep it in our van now. It works via an app that you download onto your phone to read the code. While it will allow you to reset a few things, it won't let you reset everything unless you purchase additional options on the app. That's the one thing I don't like about it. However, I'm also not one to reset warning lights without first fixing the issue though, so I'm not purchasing that option.

This is a really good scanner for people who don't necessarily want to fix their own cars, but want to be armed with the information they need to avoid getting screwed over when they go in for repairs.I've tested a lot of high end OBD2 devices that can reset pretty much every error code you can imagine, recalibrate sensors, adjust ride height and do a million other cool things. This isn't that kind of device. This is a basic diagnostic tool that's more like a read only device. It will quickly let you know if there are any errors being thrown up by your car, but the only things you can actually reset are your oil light and steering calibration. If you need more you should go for a more full featured scanner, but if you just want to know what's going on with your car and you don't want to spend a lot this is what you need.

This is a good Diagnostic Tool Scanner for Cars. I've used it to diagnose our older vehicle and it does provide accurate codes indicating what is wrong with the vehicle. It's compact and easy to use; however, the updates on the app is annoying as there will be errors from time to time.
