As advertised. The saddle valve has brass ferrules (inserts in the tubing) to help seal the compression rings. Best to use the plastic compression rings (included) with the poly tubing. Sealed up with no leaks. Though the description says no need to turn off the water- if you have iron pipe, you will need to as it is necessary to drill a hole in the pipe as per the instructions. Copper and plastic pipe do not need a hole drilled.

Works perfectly and has all the necessary components to connect to your fridge.

The valve was crooked in the mounting bracket, hopefully it will be okay. Be sure to unscrew the puncture needle way back into the rubber seal. I had it almost flush in just a little bit while I was tightening up the nuts and it punctured my copper pipe without having to turn it in. Tighten the nut snug that has the needle valve in it, it’s loose and can cause a leak. Update: The needle valve punctured the tubing all the way through without any problems, not a drop when unscrewing to the on position. Working perfectly.

Worked as it should. But I only used the piercing part . Only concern is that it has the California cancer warning on it.. so I didn't use any of the plastic..

I recently got a used fridge that came with an icemaker. I'd never owned a fridge like that personally before, so I was pretty excited to use it. I'm no plumber, however, so the thought of hooking the thing up terrified me. After watching some YouTube videos on the topic, though, and seeing how simple to use something like this was, I decided to bite the bullet and give it a shot. I was shocked at how simple the whole process turned out to be (although I was still sweating bullets as I twisted a hole in one of my pipes). Honestly, I think anyone could handle hooking up this thing. The hardest part, really, is just moving your fridge and squeezing under the cabinet.

Unfortunately, I would never get my ice maker to work again. Easy to install.
