This book should be read by everyone who is interested in truth. Thank you to Dr. Lutzer and his great research and courageous to be a truth teller.

Worth every penny for knowledge/wisdom.
Great book. The drift of the church, letting society eclipse God. I enjoy how he teaches. Very thought provoking author/teacher.

Powerful book explaining the moral and spiritual collapse of our times
Dr Luther uses powerful examples from the bible and from past societies all over the world to help explain what has happened in America over the last 50 years. How we have lapsed from a Christian nation to one who neither worships nor fears God as a society. He offers hope, encouragement and Gods truth to stand against the darkness that seeks to take us over.

Excellent -won’t put down
I bought one for me and my elderly, highlyIntelligent dad. I wondered what he’d think of it. He couldn’t put it down and went on and on about the interesting things he read. I fall asleep when I read, but not with this one! I’ve learned so much and find it either easy to read or so good that I don’t fall asleep and, in fact, can’t wait to get to the next chapter. I’m learning a lot and I’m also sobered by what I’m reading. Very relevant to what’s going on in society…currently. Get it now for yourself and as Christmas presents.

Thought provoking and Relevant
This book is a great reminder of the dark times we are in. This message is a clarion call to action similar to Francis Schaefer in his day

Ambitious and somewhat repetitious but worth a read
I have read much of Lutzer over the years. This book is somewhat similar to his previous two books on American culture but worth a read for the updated information. There are also some chapters that have information from previous books which he noted at the end of each of those chapters. It is ambitious and articulate but does have a lot of theological discussion that will appeal mostly to evangelicals due to language evangelicals use. Perhaps the evangelicals are his target group. I found the best chapter was the one on returning to the God of creation (chapter 8) where gender issues were discussed. Chapter 11 where he reviewed the Church under Hitler and current trends was also very interesting. For me Lutzer is probably the most informed and articulate evangelical writing today. I gave this four stars as the book could have been reduced to be more concise (275 pages before Notes and comprehensive) when it comes to theological discussion. But it is definitely worth a read for the support of his thesis, which is a new god is rising in the psyche of the American culture and that god is not the God of the Bible.
