Cocktails for the Holidays: Festive Drinks to Celebrate the Season Hardcover – September 16, 2014

I love mixing up cocktails and I'm a subscriber to Imbibe Magazine - so when they came out with this Holiday cocktail book I had to pick it up. It doesn't disappoint for the most part. Just a couple things to keep in mind. Some of the recipes include some more obscure liquors that are on trend at the moment - so they aren't something I can easily whip up at my bar (and I have a WELL stocked one). So, even if it's something I'd like to try, I'm not willing to go out and buy a bottle (which are usually expensive bottles) to make one cocktail. Also, some of the liquors used are "bitter" so - if you aren't a fan - beware. I would have liked to see a few more champagne based drinks too - since that's a staple for me during the holidays. It would have also been nice to have things categorized in with identifiers - like "Sweet", "Tart", "Earthy", etc... just to add more depth to recipes. Still loved the book though!

I bought this because I need some new ideas for the upcoming holidays and Imbibe is one of my go-to sites online. The first cocktail I made - the Ebenezer Scrooge - has made the book purchase worthwhile! Great recipes, made with ingredients that any amateur mixologist has on hand (or should have!)

This book contains; quite an interesting assortment of drinks! Very interesting-indeed!

Great little book for not just the holidays but anytime. Lots of fun new recipes and the old standards too which are making a huge comeback!

I read reviews of this book in several place so I ordered it as a gift for some friends who love cocktails. There were some interesting recipes but with many obscure ingredients. I won't be purchasing a copy for myself.

Made a great gift for the holidays. Some great/fun recipes in there. A lot them have so many ingredients though, so take a little liberty and its more practical.

Can't wait to get mixing.
